Good graphics cards?

Right now I have a Geforce 8400 GS. I'm thinking about getting the Geforce 9400 GT, so would that one be good? And what other graphics cards would you recommend? It has to fit in a pci express x16 port. Thanks

Well games evolve quickly so I suggest the best card you can find for a reasonable price. I'm not an expert on this as my 8400GS is dying because I overclocked it xD. Don't overclock....

Well it depends on how much you want to spend and what kind of computer specs you have. I found a really good deal here:

The 9600GT is better than the HD4670. And as mentioned we need to know what power supply you got as you might have to buy a new one. And with the 9600GT you need to have a 6-pin power cable in the power supply, or you can get this kind of adapter which requires 2 of those 4-pin molex cables. (I don't know if that card has the adapter with it).

I have the 9600gt but its the XXX Alfa Dog edition, and I can say it works flawless!

Well, it seems like the card I have now requires 300 watts. And is there much of a difference between the 9400gt and the 9600gt? Because I can find the 9400gt at $70 where I want to get mine but the 9600gt at $110.

The minimum GPU that you should get is the 9600GT. It handles pretty well with all the games

For sure Ati Radeon 4850 are nice for now , 4850 X2 better ,4870 if you have Monitor up to 22'.

I have the 9600GT ASUS MAGIC edition and it works flawless especially with DX10 in World in Conflict.

 

TDU runs solid FPS too with everything cranked on high.

I have a dual (2) NX8800GT MSI w/copper cooling.

 

So far no problems, works like a charm.

Pull out Crysis on high settings 1680x1050 w/X2 aa.

 

Considered the best G-card under the $300.00 range (for now).

 

I would recommend getting either the 8800's or the 9800's.

Everything in between didn't work out for me at all. But than again, thats just me. ;)

9400 will do pretty good..

but i preferred a 9600GT or ATI 4850...

 

but presently i used a Dell HD 2400Pro

pretty suck.. but at least i still can play TDU pretty good.. abut 18-30 fps @ 800x600 high/medium quality & HDR is off....

Best bang for your buck is a GTX260 core 216 from NVidia. I only run one of them and I get 200fps with full settings on 1920x1200 resolution. They are selling for real cheap nowadays.
