You'd think that someone who can afford to have their Aston Martin DB9 transformed into a DBS could probably afford to simply buy a new DBS. We can't really speak to the motivations of one Russian DB9 owner, but Edo Competition wasn't about to argue with a paying customer.

After the five-year old DB9 was brought to Edo for conversion, the tuner replaced the original metal body panels with the carbon fiber parts used on Aston's flagship DB. In addition to the external appearance, the interior of the car has been customized with a mix of leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber and metal.

Personally, i'd just leave it as a DB9, I slightly prefer the DB9 to the DBS... but it's still very good, no one would be any the wiser.

I wouldn't do it either, but I must say that the interior's kinda cool. It's nice that they used AM parts, but even so, it's probably more expensive to get a replica (probably with miles on it, too) then sell the DB9 and get a DBS.

I wouldn't do it because I would kick myself if I was driving a DBS not made by Aston Martin. It would feel weird driving a sort of replica.

+1. Exactly how I feel.

Its a cool idea but I wouldn't do it since I wouldn't like to drive a replica or buy anything fake. So I would just keep the DB9 or trade it in for a DBS or another car.

Well the benefit is he keeps his 2+2 whereas iirc the DBS is a 2-seater only.

You can spec the DBS to have a 2+2 configuration, or you can leave it as luggage space.
