hmm I couldn't decide this, should I buy a case with a psu or should I buy a rubbish case then buy a good psu afterwards. I could do with a rubbish case it doesn't has to be flash.

Yes, cases that include PSUs often have some cheap generic PSU, which might appear to have a decent amount of power, but lack any protection for your hardware, or are inefficient (increasing power bills).

looks nerdy... great. Altho I still think cpu should always be your primary spending target, a 2600k would worth a lot more than the crossfire setup in an opportunity cost deal.

Depending on what he will be doing. If he's running GPU accelerated programs such as some Adobe CS programs, video editing or gaming then the extra graphics card will be a lot more beneficial than going to a 2600 from a 2500.
