Atari deals with cheaters

A new member of the Atari team is appointed and made some statements about taking action against the hackers and cheaters. Starting with the Mocrapto dude, who is ruining the CRC (PC) for a couple of months now.

 

Mattlab is his name. He calls himself the new Sheriff of TDU2, lol

Interesting, I posted a thread about this in those forums around August or September last year detailing the "view" some of the players have on the game and to what they can do because no action is taken against them in regards to hex'ing the DLC or giving themselves massive amounts of money.

 

The other part to this of course is that they need to do something otherwise these people will just hack the DLC and others would suit as why should they pay for something that others don't and completely get away with. So it's good to see something finally being done.

You've been banned: Free-ride locked - Impossible to join this player. You are banned...

Atari should make clear what they consider to be harmful to the game, serious enough to ban.

The CRC Cheaters are obvious, but there are countless other modifications that are helpful to a lot of players.

 

But it was about time someone takes care of these CRC Cheaters as they make the complete public section and Hall of Fame useless.

The only problem with banning them is that they might find a better game that we all like and ruin our fun therein. :cheeky:

The CRC hacking needs to stop, but stuff involving money shouldn't be that big of an issue. If you can only make under 10m off the races, you can't really drive all the cars you want. When cheating puts others at a disadvantage, then there is a issue.

Money hacking also impacts on the game though especially in the Casino whereby you get people going "All-in" because they have many millions or even a billion dollars. If the Auction House ever comes out that too will be impacted especially if Atari and Eden are smart and give away Exclusive cars or the like to the highest bidder.
