Yes, as far as I can see FM5 is just FM4 with a couple of new features, which was FM3 with a couple of new features (along with tyre model updates, graphics improvements, etc). There just isn't enough substance to justify buying it.

My word, T10 are promoting the hell out of RUSH… They hadn't even heard of Formula 1 until this was made.

And now they're singing from the rooftops of their roots in open wheel racing and put F1 classics alongside champ cars.

Not going to say they aren't douching up a bit with all this marketing stuff, but is the F1 part necesarilly a bad thing? I mean, would you really disconsider a game just for HAVING some of the greatest racing cars ever made?

Not disliking the new cars they're adding, but rather their approach to adding them… playing on the hype around F1 and the RUSH movie. Acting as if they've always been huge fans of the sport, when all they're doing is capitalising on it for a short term gain.

Forza Motorsport 5, the upcoming Forza title for the Xbox One looked at from a very different perspective. In collaboration with McLaren Automotive they made two worlds come together, One Frame at a Time. Turn10 have captured game footage in a very original way ... with a camera bolted into the engine block of a McLaren 12C supercar as it blasts past 680 frames printed on aluminum panels at a maximum filming speed of 120mph, driven by Tanner Foust.

For someone who really used to love Forza, they've put me off the entire franchise. FM5 is FM4 with new tracks and some updated graphics. I'm not spending money on the game, then another kagillion dollars on DLC that don't improve the game all that much..

 

So disappointed.

Agreed. I used to love Forza even when everyone else started hating on it but seriously, I'm not excited for FM5 at all ._. Even the "improved graphics" are a letdown imho.

i can't play Forza - i got stuck on Level One and nearly threw my xbox through the TV! And GT is quite cool but i just don't get it. It still feels arcade like and i end up loading Black Ops II to get some trigger time instead. But i don't live by myself anymore so those days on Xbox Live are Loooooongg gooooone

To be fair Tiff Needell also gave it a shot with a wheel along with a bunch of other titles for Fifth Gear & I don't think Microsoft would put his review on their game box

Plus he was suing the crappy M$ wheel too (iirc)

 

Not defending FM, but real racing drivers never seem to like the games because they're rarely that realistic.
