Yeah the direction they have went after the high praise and enjoyment the game was getting before it almost seems like commercial suicide.

Admittedly I've not played it much recently either. I play in cockpit view so haven't noticed the weird exterior camera.

 

However, I did notice since the last update that it was pretty much impossible to play as intended. I.e. smashing the living daylights out of the other cars, as all other vehicles, no matter what they are and no matter what you are, act like they're a LOT heavier than you, and thus completely obliterate you when you try to take them out. Really annoying.

Yeah and they tested this for 7 months, releasing nothing because they kept claiming they had to get the physics right. Then we get this. :confused:

I played it again for the first time in a while at the weekend. There were 2 extra cars I never noticed before! The American Muscle 3 and European Coupe 2.

 

The physics in it are... top-heavy. Whenever I took the American Sedan through a corner on the racing line I'd end up on 2 wheels (or on my roof) a bit too easily!

Yeah that was the first thing that happened to me after I tried the new update. Took the American Sedan round the first corner of the WIP Sandpit and rolled over instantly. :confused:

I wonder if they'll add an SUV... Flatout 2 had a couple of them. :D

I can only imagine they will... IIRC estate cars have also been very highly requested on their forums. I hope we get some of those as well, if there is ever a new update or even a word from the developers?

I reckon they'll do the usual thing; silence for ages then a sudden huge update / complete re-write of the physics engine.

I get the feeling that all we've done is fund a game-engine at this point. A game probably would have come out regardless, but based on older tech. I'm not saying I mind, but some might.
