Car Rental mod for Test Drive Unlimited 2

I had this idea while I was watching some TDU1 gameplay :) , Car Rental. Why did they remove that from TDU2? :sulk: It's a great feature. Could some great modders out there create this mod? It's not really useful, but a VERY COOL feature, makes the game so fun to play, i.e. You had $500,000 and you wanted a Lamborgini, to show off to your friends to. Not to race in, but show off. A Lamborghini costed $600,000 :cry: but there was a car rental booth nearby. You would rent it, for, lets say, $400,000 and showed it off. :cool: Very good feature, that would be. Do you agree with me or not?

Don't think it's possible. And posers are uncool, too. We got a lot posers here in Berlin, really embarassing IMHO.

I agree but I think the rental price should be 20% of the actual car price max. :)

This was my plan: Have rental booths around Ibiza and Hawaii, 2 doors in them, 1 to exit (road icon) and 1 to the cars (car icon). Outside (through cars door) there will be 2 min and 8 max cars, not tuned (btw outside you're surrounded in a chain link fence) and you can't customize them. Rent times: 10m, 20m, 30m, 60m, 2h, each at a higher price. When you drive with the car, io the top-right you wil see a countdown timer (the rental timer). when it reaches 0, there will be a cutscene where you give the car back. At the end you will have a choice of renewing the car (rent duration screen again) or giving the car back.

It would take a really skilled modder to pull this off, I'm not sure if anyone can do it. Here's a task: Find someone who you think can pull this off, and post their TDU2 gamertag. I'll go do the same.

Perfect and sounds a lot like TDU1 but question is.. Is it actually possible to make a mod like this one? I don't know if you can add cutscenes like this etc.

Hmm... maybe it is REALLY REALLY hard but... hmm... maybe someone could just create all seperate parts and then someone could download them all and create the mod. Maybe it will just work. Maybe...

Someone could just create all seperate parts but not all 1 part altogether because maybe some files won't react to others if they're brung together in 2 seperate files. But in 1 file would equal failure of one or two of the files to work and a reaction would cause the failure.

Sure it was good in TDU 1 but it was only useful when you needed a certain class car for a race and since the races in TDU 2 are boring to death i dont think its that much needed and i dont think its possible without source code or developers tools of some sort

Just like said, it's not possible, as you have to hack into the game engine of TDU 2 to add this feature. And that's what is not possible for modders.

I agree with Robik that the races are boring and that you'll need developer tools to do this BUT a correction to my first post (PC Post) it will not make the game more fun, maybe just a bit, but Robik said its not really useful. It might be kinda useful, But for that price, 30% off, no customizations, and if you rented a car for 2 hrs, it will NOT be useful at all. maybe...

Maybe, the better the car, the bigger the discount. You would only use this for, like, A3, A2, and A1, because C's and B4's are pretty cheap, and you wouldn't need to rent them. So then if you're buying an A1 car, you would get 55% off, A3 would be 50%, A6 40% off and B1 to A7 is 35% off. That might be a good deal.

I actually really asked both Atari and Eden Games about cooperation with modders, but I never get a response. So still, it's not possible.

I was figuring someone could make this mod because all other mods were made, I think that would be about the same size as this, but I think I'm wrong. The Casino added a whole island, so why not add a few buildings into this game? Not a whole island (although the Casino was a DLC, but this is a mod).

Man, we can't figure it out, it is not possible. It's not possible to encrypt the game engine for us. The developers (Eden and Atari) got own programs for this, and only they got the programs, we are not able to get the source code.

Wait a sec, encrypt. Put the normal codes into the hexadecimal/binary codes. Am I correct?

If I am, this would be like 1% possible, but what if we use the DECRYPTING programs into ENCRYPTING.
