It's because others did. Sometimes (and this is my opinion) ppl really have no idea who to vote for, so they vote for the person who already has couple of votes ;)

Yes you're correct :) 1 week to enter and 1 to vote, so 2 weeks overall, changeover between entering and voting is on a Sunday :p
