    It's not even so much just the gaming as think of PS1 it allowed you to play CD's too, PS2 and Xbox were DVD players and PS3/Xbox 360 allowed streaming media, DVD's and Blu-ray in the case of the PS3 so they haven't always been dedicated to ONLY games. It's the whole shift in making 'games' a secondary focus that's upsetting people, not to mention the stupid decisions and after-thoughts that seem to be slipping through the media now. Good example being they're calling it the XBOX ONE but it requires a separate set-top box to plug-in to it to have that one box functionality. Then we have the whole Live TV only for the US at launch with the outlook of signing up other networks and services in Europe etc later. Then there is the whole probability that PS4 is going to be 25-40% more powerful so games especially those from Sony will look increasingly better on their system, how third-party devs will utilise this will remain to be seen. They also seem to be trying to talk up the 'Cloud' but current infrastructure doesn't really support some of the things they are saying, have you seen the "XBOX ONE is 10x more powerful than Xbox 360 alone but 40x more powerful with the CLOUD"? There's a lot to shake your head at with the Xbone but time will tell if they - just like the Wii did - can hook up the casual market with these gimmicks and less of a focus on games. There's nothing to stop Sony releasing a TV box [again] either if that's what people show what they want.

    No BAk it's true, amazon have seen a large increase of Wii U sales alone. A price-cut has helped of course but post reception of the Xbone is driving some places up and others down (see GameStop shares).

    Good point however most games allow you to tweak the colour/saturation so just lower that and it's the same thing, or if not possible would it be ok for people to post the entries they want with a request to B&W it?

    Just to be completely clear, this removes selective-colouring entries too yeah? Pure Grayscale/Desaturated/Monochromatic is all that's allowed.

This time it's the Ferrari 599XX EVO, the super hardcore track toy for the rich racing enthusiast. As the car is not road-legal, owners can only use it on the track and for the million or two that they have put down for it they get the exclusive pleasure of having Ferrari transport the car to the track and also supply a group of their own engineers and a pit-crew to monitor and set-up the car to the owners liking or for the track itself. If you are not mega-rich then don't worry as Assetto Corsa will give you the opportunity to experience this outrageous car for yourself later this year. This ‘car’ is simply brutal, “nasty”. Vastly different in comparison to other road cars modified to be used in competitions, the 599XX Evo is much more like a prototype. When you see it in action, is difficult to imagine that it comes from a road-legal base. It looks, it drives, it sounds differently to any other car. And it’s an exclusive car, that just few lucky people in the world can drive on track. It’s the same on the virtual side: few racing games include the 599XX Evo, therefore we believe that gamers and car enthusiasts will appreciate our effort to bring this awesome car in Assetto Corsa.     God Damn that sounds Gooood! Simbin have released a video showing the latest addition to their RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) free-to-play game, the BMW 320 Gr 5. In the video you can see the car racing around Circuit Zolder and my god just listen to the thing.     A wise publisher would use the IP to it's fullest. Release TDU3 and release a game on iOS and Android similar to the older games that people love due to the nostalgia trip. In fact imagine a game where you had to progress through the generations of TD by playing each one.

    TDU2 was Atari and Eden, the TEST DRIVE brand still has recognition and whoever buys it can make it something better. To be honest it may be harder to sell the ATARI name and logo as lately it became synonymous with crap when seen on a game box.

    They haven't sold it yet, they have put a minimum value on the Intellectual Property (IP) 'TEST DRIVE' which is as you say $1.5m. What's confusing about this is that investment that was made of $5m that was taken on the security of 'TEST DRIVE Unlimited' (TDU). Does this mean only TDU is what they have secured against, TDU/TDU2 as it stands now or did they buy it to now sell it? These things confuse me. Also the Atari twitter was hacked but they have since got it back so maybe you guys might wish to ask some questions of them? :)

    Why is the Collector's Edition so expensive? I don't support these sort of cash grabs from publishers so I'll be sticking with the Standard, plus I don't like and never like the idea of making my game easier than what they originally intended.

    Hot Pursuit 2 (2?) EA have today announced a new Need for Speed title called Need for Speed: Rivals with a trailer and some damn tasty screenshots that are very much indicating a next-gen flavour and wow do they look incredible! There is a definite classic NFS vibe a la Hot Pursuit and even High Stakes/Road Challenge being oozed from these images in my opinion, the Ferrari being pursued especially will be met with an irony that will not be lost on many who can remember, that the Prancing Horse could not be chosen in the 'Hot Pursuit' mode and could only be used in the races. There was of course a solution for those on the PC via a small modification but it just goes to show how times and perceptions change. NFS Rivals is being developed by the Swedish-based developer Ghost Games in collaboration with Criterion who have brought the series back to success with their reboots of Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted. The game will be running on the Frostbite 3 engine created by DICE (Battlefield 4) and is sure to look amazing. As you can ascertain from the name, Rivals is all about two types going up against each other and this takes place as cops vs racers. The game will incorporate a new feature called AllDrive. AllDrive will allow players to seamlessly transition from playing alone to instantly joining their friends and being able to team-up and become a part of each other's game, much like TDU and TDU2 did. From the trailer and screens you can see that weather is going to be a factor though how this will affect your car in it's handling will remain to be seen. Gadgets make a return, so if you hated them well they're back to annoy you again and may even be upgradable this time. A long overdue but welcome addition - or should that be re-introduction - is the ability to personalise your number/license plate as well as the typical of today livery and decal editor so you can show how much you love bacon to others. Autolog will also be back to show you every instance that your friends are bettering you in, making you want to cry and re-evaluate your life and discover where it all went wrong. NFS Rivals will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 19th 2013, a PC version is also in the works, maybe alongside the Xbox One and PS4 (?)     It's a hot topic around and has in fact been asked on the Forza forums. It's mainly because MS put out info saying that ONLY XBone "controllers and accessories" will work with it. The controllers use a new Wireless standard hence the incompatibility and apparently Fanatec themself mentioned a few months back about trying to upgrade the wheels if required.

    A very good point has been made elsewhere, XBone will only use its own hardware or those that have been greenlit for it (again like X360) so FM5 could come out and there will be no decent wheel to use with it!

    In case you missed the Reveal. Also BAk all that extra stuff may sound good to you but to a large number it's just not needed, Xbox 360 and PS3 were premier Netflix and Hulu providers and were used to prove 'that people are watching less television'. With a big match like the CL final or the World Cup I am not going to want to game and 'snap' the TV to the side as my full attention will be one or the other only and tbh TV's these days have been allowing people to do this for years with picture-in-picture. It just seems crazy to me that they have gone down this route considering a lot of players on Xbox picked 360 for their cross-platform titles due to it looking better, now Sony is probably going to have this advantage. The only good thing I heard was that Live was going to dedicated servers, that could be a giant feather in their cap as it allows larger playcounts and less lag. It also now justifies paying for Xbox Live. It comes with a 500GB Hard Drive but how easy can this be upgraded? All games need to be installed, now say you use XBone as a PVR too that 500GB is going to go in not too long a time. I actually worry more about how lackadaisical Sony could get if people don't take to the XBone meaning there's no need for them to try harder like they have been doing so well lately.
