I've been enjoying this mod so far, but one thing that bothered me slightly was the sounds of some cars, some re-used original Atari sounds and/or had inaccurate sounds. Since I had various sound mods released over the past 10 years in my HDD which are now long lost on the Internet, I took initiative upon myself to add unique sounds for most cars in the pack.
What I did:
-Added new sounds for multiple cars (Including ones unlockable by tuning shop)-Sounds for most cars are unique to themselves or ones with similar engine. (Example: VR6 engine cars)
-Matched sounds for cars that use the same engine (Example: E46 M3 and Wiesmann Roadster)
I hope it gets included in the next update, I'll upload the file for anyone who would like the file here

Excellent work... we've come so far since the baby steps of the Community Megapack and UCP.

Assetto Corsa has high quality 3D models for Alfa Romeo 4C and updated Giulietta QV. :)

Increasing the engine inertia using TDUPE might help, because from what I remember the Mercedes CLS has an unusually high inertia value(160%) while some tail-happy cars like the Saturn Curve had a really low value.
-
Works just fine for me, only thing is that Tob Racer didn't assign them in any dealer so you have to put them in TDUMT. They're also all branded as Saabs to differentiate the clone from the original slot.
-
I've looked into adding more cars, the main problem you'll run into is the lack of camera slots. I know I've stated this before but when adding 35-40 new cars in the unofficial megapack I ran into minor issues. When you're adding 45-90(if duplicates will be a thing) it can be very problematic.
The Ford GT40 for example was one of the cars I wanted to add, but because it doesn't have a feasible camera set I replaced it with another car with a more conventional set up.
-
Sometimes it shows up like that but it actually works I think, its worth testing it ingame to see if it works, if not I'd put replace the .bnk and try mapping it again. :)

My method is different a bit different from JPTH, while he uses the TDU Patch Installer I go by a more manual method and don't use it at all, here it is:
-Open TDUMT
-Go to File Browser, open DB.bnk and extract CarPhysicsData using TDUUT
-Open CarPhysicsData using NotePad
-Change the items field to 1 more(Default is 213)
-Copy the line of one vehicle and paste it at the bottom
-Change the reference number(first value) so that it isn't shared with another car, to be safe, I'd just add a 2 before the number. (example: 924263229 -> 2924263229)
-Change the Vehicle ID number, this is the second to last number on the line, 2035 and over are safe values for this.
-Save changes and repack the file using TDUUT
-Insert it back into DB.bnk
-Open Database editor
-Change either/or the Car_Name and/or Car_Version so that its different from the original vehicle, this is done by clicking the field, pressing Edit -> Modify Resource, click the [...] button and a drop down name list would appear, choose the appropriate name and it'll be done.
-Using the same method, do the same to Car_File_Name field, although here I think the names must have no spaces. (In this tutorial we're using GTR33)
-Although it is optional, doing the same to the HUD_File_Name field allows your new car to have its own HUD.
-Now that the new slot is ready, its time to map the files onto it.
-First, put the files onto your TDU folder, a car should have three files
Example.bnk - Exterior file
Example_I.bnk - Interior file
Expamle_audio.bnk - Sound file
Where Example would be the new name put in Car_File_Name
(I recommend to have a copy of these files around, as TDUF mapping tends to overwrite them)
-Open TDUF
-Copy and paste these commands in this order
MappingTool fix-missing --mapFile "C:\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Vehicules\Example.bnk"
MappingTool fix-missing --mapFile "C:\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Vehicules\Example_I.bnk"
MappingTool fix-missing --mapFile "C:\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Sound\Vehicules\Example_audio.bnk"
MappingTool fix-missing --bnkDir "C:\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk"
(Where Example would be the new name used in Car_File_Name)
-Replace the files you've just put in bnk folders
Now the car is technically added, but to edit it some more we have to add its entry to the TDUMT database
-Open VehicleSlots.xml
-Copy the line from the vehicle used in the first step
-Paste it, and change the reference number(6th step) to the one of the new vehicle.
-Save the file
-Open on TDUMT, and you can edit it now like any other vehicle.
and the rims, its mostly the same but has some few extra steps in the end
-Open TDUMT
-Go to File Browser, open DB.bnk and extract TDU_Rims using TDUUT
-Open TDU_Rims using NotePad
-Change the items field to 1 more
-Copy the line of one rim and paste it at the bottom
-Change the reference number(first value) so that it isn't shared with another car, to be safe, I'd change the first number to a 4 (For example: 1209560423 -> 4209560423)
-Save changes and repack the file using TDUUT
-Insert it back into DB.bnk
-Open DB Resource Editor
-Choose Rims
-Add new entries for the displayed Rim Name (Can be anything)
-Add a new entry for the rim file names, usually a car would only need one (Example_F_01) but if the rear wheels are different you'd have to add an (Example_R_01)
-Open Database editor
-Change the Rim_Name so its different from the copied rim (Rim_Name and Display can be the same, Rim_Name is just something used by the game)
-Rsc_Path is the folder where the rims are located, you can add new folder so long as you add them into the Rims database along with the file names
-Change the Rsc_File_Name_Front and Rsc_File_Name_Rear to the new rim file names added
-Now that the new rims is ready, its time to map the files onto it.
-First, put the files onto your TDU folder, rims should have one or two files
Example_F_01.bnk
Example_R_01.bnk
(I recommend to have a copy of these files around, as TDUF mapping tends to overwrite them)
-Open TDUF
-Copy and paste these commands in this order
MappingTool fix-missing --mapFile "C:\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\Vehicules\Rim\Folder\Example_F_01.bnk"
MappingTool fix-missing --bnkDir "C:\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk"
(Where Folder is the rim folder, for example Lotus or Nissan )
-Replace the files you've just put in bnk folders
Now its time to assign the new rims to a car
-Open TDUMT
-Go to File Browser, open DB.bnk and extract TDU_CarRims using TDUUT
-Open TDU_CarRims using NotePad
-Change the items field to 1 more
-The format of the lines are 000;111; where 000 is the reference number of the car and 111 is the reference number of the rims
-Add a line with the reference number of the car to the rims you just added (In this tutorial, it would be 2924263229;4209560423;
-Save changes and repack the file using TDUUT
-Insert it back into DB.bnk
I did this write-up while I was doing it myself, if anything seems unclear I'll try to elaborate more on it.

Actually, the GT-R Black Edition is not added on my TDU, neither is... or was, in your pack. But ok, i will work on the GT-R now and will upload the v.1.2.
Even because the Black Edition has different power and etc.
My bad then, I was probably trying it out beforehand.
-
Just tried it out now, all looks good but the updated GT-R needs to have its rim size adjusted through TDUPE and renamed from GT-R SpecV to GT-R Black Edition because I think that's what the new models called. Nothing major its just a few seconds fix. :)
-
Looks pretty good, guess I won't have to release my update.
Mustang Boss 302 uses a HUD file called Mustang.bnk, initially I planned to use HUD from a GT500 mod but it wasn't very high quality.
Do you mind telling me what are suspension fixes exactly, were the cars too high/low or is it a handling thing?
-
Are there any other bugs that I'm missing? I've fixed the Supra, Bentley and Mustang HUD but just wanted to know if there's anything else that could be worked on.

Hi
I'm back now, gonna run through the thread again to spot out any errors i need to fix.
Next version will fix Bentley and Supra issue, and also update the Supra mod because Combat released a new version.
Here's the database for TDUPE, I intended to release this earlier but I forgot.

Hi
after a while of trying around with the auto-installer I couldn't get it working.
next week I have no access to the TDU computer so I'm releasing the open beta with additional fixes.
I got messages of people telling me they can do the auto-installer, if you can, feel free to do is and upload your file here for others.
:)

Its actually mostly done its just going through testing and getting the auto-installer ready. I could release it manually but that means it'll overwrite players existing database and hence rewrite all modded cars names, physics, etc.

There are a lot of japanese cars that need some love... All the Silvias, S13, S14 and S15, MR2, MR-S, FTO, 3000GT's...
Edit: Actually, if you attach this front end in Combat's 180SX, you will get what we call a Sileighty, which nobody has ever done to TDU, i think.
I've seen an S14 and S15 mods somewhere but I can't recall where, there's an MR2(and FC RX7 for all its worth) here [TDU]Ðвтомобили - Test Drive Unlimited - Каталог файлов - SNG Racing Community and Combat did the 3000GT, its just that its the JDM version hence its called the GTO. :)
Haven't seen an FTO ever though, I guess its not very popular.

Found out a way how to get the cameras.bin file working

You just have to change the address to match the folder where its actually located on your computer.
Here's some things I found out while messing with it:
-It only changes the Cockpit_Front camera
-Going below/above some value numbers will make the camera behave like a motorcycle one
-Going below/above will set it to target/source RHD on TDUMT, it seems to be related.
-It doesn't affect/activate idle camera slots like DB7 AR1 or Cobalt SS
-
Both, ideally. I think that's possible. A new cam set can be set much like we can add a vehicle slot in database.
Customizing cam values is a bit trickier, I hope camera.bin editor works, to help with finding interesting fields in the file.
I think upon creating a new vehicle slot a camera is also made for it; however it just uses the default values much like a camera set of some idle slots (ie DB7 AR1 or Cobalt SS)
maybe these can be activated in the future? then we can give more cars unique camera sets like the Saleen S281 from the Mustang.
-
Will the JSON file allow to add custom values like the bin editor? or to add new slots using the 4 assigned cameras with TDUMT? Either way it'd be pretty good.
Also is there any chance for a translated camera.bin editor program? It doesn't seem to work due to russian values involved.
-
The only main problems as of now is that the process of adding a new car is somewhat slow and the limited amount of camera slots; even if we're able to increase the amount from 135 vehicles to around 300-400 we'd still only have 135 cameras between these cars. However it is possible to add new sets but the cameras.bin editor doesn't work for me so I can't experiment more on it.
Just by curiosity: did you get any issue with the ability of buying added vehicle at a car dealer? Not at all, it works just like any other car.
-
There might be a limit as to much the Database can hold. 2CV Super GT said that the game crashed after he added so many number of brands when making patch 1.68.
It's something that needs further inspection.
[RELEASED] Test Drive Unlimited Platinum - v1.21
in Tools / Others Mod
Posted · Edited by civicmanvtec
Its a huge list which is why I uploaded all the folder, but I will try to remember, this includes most vehicle variants like bodykits unless otherwise specified:
There are couple of sounds that were in platinum that I've switched around, for example the 430 Scuderia sound is now on the normal F430 while the Scuderia got a newer, more aggressive sound.
