I have installed the game on a different drive

I have run the game off of a flash drive

I have run it in 640x480 in settings in the properties tab.

installed a generation earlier of drivers ( Adrenalin 21.4.1 Recommended (WHQL )

 

For some reason, after a few months. The game just refuses to start up no matter what. 

 

i currently have it deleted and cleaned the registry, but under no circumstance did it ever turn back on. Someone help me, I refuse to belive this game became self aware and just headed out to lunch. 

Check the troubleshooting guide here if you haven't already.

I would suggest starting over with a new install to rule out whatever extra changes you've made. Install TDU base game and drop Platinum on top of it, apply the 1.12 patch. Then go through the troubleshooting guide.

Also there were reports of some versions like TDU Gold causing issues.  It should be fine, but check archive.org or abandonware sites for other isos if necessary.

The rights holders would laugh at your reasoning. I don't know why I'm explaining this, but they don't have to do anything. They own the property and can decide what to do with it. This includes shutting down stupid ideas like enabling online play for pirated copies.

Moreover, the fact that a new game is in development only increases the chance of shutting down anything which infringes on their IP. Try to understand that you're looking at this situation from the view of someone who just wants to play a pirated copy online for free. You can't really expect anyone to take you seriously.

You know what would be even more stupid.. supporting hacked versions and opening yourself up to legal trouble after years of developing the multiplayer. Also I'm sure your demand has been noted and put to the top of the priority list.

Its been delisted from the dealership in the recent patch. If you want it, temporarily replace your current db.bnk (euro\bnk\database) with the original unpatched Platinum db.bnk so you can buy it at the classic merc dealer. Then change the db.bnk back afterwards.

A workaround is to use ds4windows and map the right stick x and y axis to the L2/R2 triggers. This is the quick and easy solution. The following solution is better because its native, but its hit and miss, and also not very easy to set.

The DS4 triggers actually count as both analog and digital buttons. In most games which lack DS4 support when you set the triggers they show up as Button 7/8 instead of an axis. Sometimes its possible to bind them as analog if you hold the trigger halfway and then select to bind it in the game options. This method is hit or miss depending on the game, and may take a lot of tries to get the axis to show up.. but it is a possible solution.

Saw you earlier.. looks like your connections alright now. Connecting with others is spotty for me too atm. I heard its recommended to jump into a house or dealership, then back to freeroam to rejoin a dropped session.

Try disabling anything that may be a potential overlay. (Steam, Rivatuner, GeForce Experience, recording apps, etc.)  Sounds like somethings screwing up your d3d9.

@TDU Iceman But like I said - I've done that, my game was working in 60fps, but the traffic was still bugging/glitching. So I think Oblibs's idea is decent, because I don't need the traffic (I know - the Oahu will be more empty, but that's not a big issue for me)

I know you said that. It still sounds like a vsync issue, maybe persisting due to overlay apps you still have running, as I mentioned earlier. Try disabling anything like that first, and keep vsync checked in the launcher.

Definitely sounds like a vsync issue. Vsync needs to be checked in the launcher, and also disable rivatuner or any other overlay/video settings that cap the fps.

You only need TDU (basic install) > Platinum > Platinum 1.12 update

Check the FAQ here for online issues.

Most ppl use Platinum online and the server is quite active most of the day.

Nice to know its likely not an Epic Games Store exclusive like WRC 8. Hopefully theres no restriction like Isle of Man 2.

Not much info so far but it having a 1:1 irl island location is good to hear.

I use the DS4 fine. I forget how I set it up exactly but I remember setting the triggers as right stick x & y, because the normal L2/R2 buttons are recognized as z-axis (which means both triggers are bound to a single axis).

First and foremost, I would eliminate this as a possible cause. Windows 10 already has issues with older games, not to mention Securom which is no longer supported by Microsoft. If you fail to launch something alongside TDU, it could be the Securom kicking in.

Try the no-cd crack or base install with Platinum dropped on it. I never heard of anyone not using the no-cd, so the issue might be related to that.

These days publishers try to kill modding as much as they can. They want that sweet microtransaction money, and they like to hand out crumbs like skins to pad their updates.

I think it would be more likely at this point to assume "solarcrown" is for theming the site rather than the official name of TDU3. That is, it could be a pretend version of the "Solar Crown" tv show's website.

The recent news is Nacon (TDU3 publisher) recently registered a website with the name "testdrivesolarcrown."

Some ppl are jumping to conclusions assuming thats the official name of the game when in fact many game sites use an abbreviated name for their domain. "testdriveunlimited3solarcrown" would just be dumb.
