  1. Glad I'm not really interested in Forza this time around. :) They make it less and less appealing to their current fanbase each time they release a new one.
  2. Tried the techdemo a few days ago and 5 minutes later I was enjoying the alpha. It's great fun apart from when I use too many cars and t lags like buggery. And from what I've read it's a single-threaded engine which really doesn't help things.
  3. Ooooo shiny.
  4. It must be. I don't even know what this GPA 7 thing is. I just know I'm going to be mysteriously ill starting Monday afternoon on the 16th.
  5. I just got another 12 months of gold for free so I'm sorted for GTA. :D 3 other people in my team at work have suspiciously booked the week off. Now there's only 1 person based in my office out of 4 for that week.
  6. Good game. Dead Rising 2 is the free game for gold members starting the 16th of this month I believe.

Yea, they can get quite rusty because people don't think the rear one is important. They wouldn't think that if it snapped off when they were driving though! Hope the weather stays nice today, I'd like to get all of the subframe back to bare shiny metal so I can prime it at least. I also found that the rear left mounting point had half rusted away. And that's the side under most pressure on roundabouts... Quite scary considering how much fun I had on roundabouts in it. Woops

:damnit: Doesn't look in bad condition. I have a feeling I might need a new drill once I'm done though.

Rear subframe is out! And so far it doesn't look in condition. Only seems to be surface rust so far and I've got parts of it down to bare metal with my wire brush drill bits. Should hopefully be ready for priming and painting some time this week if I do a bit after work each day.
  10. I thought that was already well known? And what's a Hard disk drive drive?
  11. I tried to heel and toe in my car. Didn't end very well...

I've been a busy Camel! Almost ready to remove the rear subframe. Just need to wait for my brother to get a cargo pallet to support the floor of my car. Then I can remove all the old underseal, grind out the rusted areas and weld new metal in it's place getting rid of 100% of the rust. Then give it a few good coats of underseal to protect the new metal from rusting. The same with the subframe, gonna use a sanding disk to get all the surface rust off then coat it with underseal before putting it back on the car followed by putting on the new brakes. Then onto the front of the car. Going to life the car body over the top of the engine so the engine and front subframe are out of the car. Cut out all of the rust on the front end of the car and weld new metal in and also weld on the front wings and front panel as they weren't even welded before. Just held on by filler and 3 small blobs are crappy weld by the previous owner... Under seal the front of the car and paint the engine bay matte black or blue(still unsure). Then onto the engine, taking the sanding disk to it to get all the rust off then I'll be painting the whole thing blue as well as cleaning the rust off the subframe and painting painting that black again. Then once both subframes are back in the car I'll be cutting out the old floors, sills and doorsteps to weld in new rust free ones in their place before under sealing the middle of the car. Then it's time to prep all of the body work ready for it to be painted properly inside and out. And then all that's left is to put it all back together again which I imagine will take several weeks and several thousand pounds to buy all the new parts that I need. Pictures! Rather bare looking engine bay. Just finished taking most of the engine ancillaries off along with the exhaust and intake. Hole in the boot floor under where the petrol tank sits. Two pieces of metal completely rusted away. They were both solid 6 months ago but it just goes to show how fast rust can destroy metal if not treated properly The front wing should be welded on all the way around. However both of them had 3 small blobs of weld and the rest was just filler. This A pillar is also supposed to be spot or seem welded all the way up. No weld at all, just small metal clips. This isn't supposed to happen. Supposed to be welded, not stuck together with filler. Tl:dr I went crazy with a mallet and chisel poking holes everywhere. It's going to cost a lot of money to put right because I'm doing it the proper way. I still love my car. <3 At least 2 more months to go, maybe 3 or 4 or December if I'm unlucky. 13. Don't watch it when slightly drunk. I made my chest hurt laughing at the bit in the lock.
  14. How do you go up hills without it feeling like your thighs have ripped open? I used to ride my bike all the time about 6 or 7 years ago. Got a new one last week and I can't do it anymore.
  15. My car is magic... Tada! Yes, that should all be welded. But the front body work on my car is literally held together with filler. Not for long though. :)
  16. I'm doing it the proper way by cutting out the rusty parts and welding in new parts. So far the metal/panel list is at about £550 and that's with a 10% discount. No doubt the further I get into striping the car the more rust and bodge jobs I'll find. New back brake assemblies are just over £100 for a pair. New rubber seals will go over £100 I'm sure. A kit with 3000+ set screws, bolts, nuts etc. for £250. Then there's the paint which is being done by a family friend so not sure how much that'll cost. The interior will be expensive to get it how I want it but that's mostly going to wait until it's back on the road and I'm out of my overdraft. Plus and £1000 to £2000 on other parts that need fixing replacing. But it should be in almost perfect condition when it's done and I don't plan on selling it ever so I'm not bothered about resale value. Just as long as I can get a decent agreed valuation from my insurer incase anything happens to it.
