  1. Codemasters has pulled the wraps off the entire selection of touring cars available in GRID Autosport. Split into eight separate categories, the sixteen tin-top racers in GRID Autosport make up a diverse range of vehicles, from tiny Mini Miglia Challenge-spec Mini Coopers to the Honda Civics and Ford Focus STs you see compete in the BTCC, and even big 'ole Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore utes from Down Under. The official announcement on the Codemasters Blog also revealed what to expect from GRID Autosport's touring car races, such as multiple-round races (like the format for the BTCC), "aggressive AI", grid sizes of up to 16 cars offline (up to 12 in online races), races with cars of comparable performance, and practice and qualifying sessions. An accompanying promo trailer for GRID Autosport's touring car discipline has also been released, and features several current drivers British Touring Car Championship (including Matt Neal, who was linked to Codemasters as a handling consultant prior to GRID Autosport's announcement) along with the previously unconfirmed Brands Hatch circuit. The trailer can be found below, along with the full list of GRID Autosport's touring cars: Cat C Touring Cars 2013 WTCC Chevrolet Cruze 2013 WTCC BMW 320 TC 2013 BTCC Ford Focus ST 2013 BTCC Honda Civic Super Utes 2007 Ford Falcon BF Ute 2013 Holden Commodore VE Ute Cat B Touring Cars 2013 Audi RS5 Touring Car 2013 Mercedes C63 AMG Super Tourers 2013 Ford Falcon FG 2013 Holden Commodore VF Cat A Touring Cars 2012 Peugeot 408 SCB 2014 ADC Presteza-14 (Editorial Note: As 'Cat A' appears to imitate the Stock Car Brazil series, it's likely this car is the SCB-spec Chevrolet Sonic) Classic Mini Cup 1970 Mini Miglia Challenge Mini Cup 2013 Mini John Cooper Works Challenge Classic Touring Car Cup 1989 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth Group A 1991 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R Group \ Veni Vidi Vici - Codemasters confirms GRID Autosport's full touring car roster
  2. Well there were rumours going around but I guess it's official now.... I have an admirer. :hmmm:
  3. Here's the good news. When you delete a file, you only 'mark it for deletion'. It's still there, but Windows/Mac/Linux/DOS will completely ignore it. Download a program like Recuva and you have half a shot at recovering it. The bad news When you store new files on that HDD they overwrite files 'marked for deletion'. So installing Windows will overwrite ~8GB of these files, then there's all the extra programs you may have installed. Files are also split into fragments (unless you run defrag often) which increases the chances of part of the file being overwritten and made corrupt if you restore it. A better strategy Partition your main drive or use a second one. Use C:\ only for Windows, Programs, and Games - stuff that doesn't need to be backed up. Store all your data on the other partition/drive. Then you can format C:\ whenever you like. You just have to configure your Windows libraries and Desktop and Downloads folders to use the other drive. Regards tduck staff helping idiots since 2007
  4. I'll restart the PC and see if that helps. Otherwise my ISP must be onto me. :|
  5. I don't have static IP - must be changing then. Then DynDNS has to get the updated IP.
  6. Not a lot I can do about it, I'm assuming others were home and using the Internet at the time. I've got all the settings back to optimal and no intensive tasks were running on the PC. Guess it'll be a luck of timing, especially for those farthest away. This setup is essentially free as well, on the last server we still had lag after a while (lots of mods and tick-based machines) despite that being paid for.
  7. I thought it was a llama :hmmm:
  8. First pass (draft) of Oculus Rift support is now in SMS are looking for WMD help with making the icons (graphics) for career mode: WMD Forum
  9. No Melbourne :( I was wondering the other week if I should try and call Ubi Australia in case they could arrange a local playtest. I think I've written enough articles to qualify as a 'gaming journalist' :hmmm:
  10. You should have seen the roof of your castle yesterday  I'll say no more
  11. People are still modding NFS Underground 2
  12. hmmm I was (and still am) uploading stuff to FTP so I would expect that to slow things down, I only have 0.3mbps upload speeds tops, and you are particularly far away. I could be naughty and try to run this on my work PC but I expect that it wouldn't work (firewall).
  13. I don't know Trackmania 2 | turboduck forum To clarify what I meant, if you enjoyed the original Tm games then you will most likely also enjoy this (the handling (keyboard) isn't quite as sharp though iirc), but if these screenies make you want to get your G27 out and go cruising then you'll probably be disappointed. I would recommend Valley over Canyon. They're available on Steam.
  14. Yeah that's what I keep telling myself, those pics do look awesome but I've played both games and what you get is nothing like what those pics make you anticipate.
  15. I hope this isn't just making up for the whole boat size thing
  16. How could they possibly know which voice commands were the most popular if they weren't listening in? :fp: (I do actually know the answer to that) It seems apparent that (as a lot of us predicted) the Kinect is no more integral to playing games on the Xbone than it is on the Xbox 360. Not every game will benefit from it and so developers won't use it for no ROI, especially when also making the same game for PS4. Gamers for the most part will be happy sticking to classic controller games that don't use Kinect as well. That's not even thinking about the paranoid out there that assume MS and NSA are spying on them.
  17. I thought that was his dock? I guess it makes sense though given how long he's been playing.
  18. Feedback Aplenty Thanks to Codemasters, Broadcast Journalism student and 'Motorsport YouTuber' Andre Harrison was exclusively permitted to record his limited gameplay session and share it with the world. His praises the development team for taking a step backwards towards the original Race Driver GRID title in terms of content and handling. It's a little hard to judge ourselves due to his, erm... aggressive driving style (at least in the touring cars), but do share your thoughts in the comments section below. Also showcased is the sharp menu interface and the replay system that Codies are particularly proud of. Oh and Ravenwest are back. Is this title on your 'must-have' list for 2014? Is being similar to GRID 1 a good or bad thing? Is there room for GRID Autosport and Project CARS to share the market? Do you think Codemasters made the right call releasing early on current-gen consoles? These are the questions - scroll down and submit your answers! GRID Autosport is due for release on PC (Steam), Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on Friday the 27th of June 2014.
  19. I have 30GB free on C:\ , not sure how that is relevant but anyway :hmmm: Interesting to see how people like to explore in straight lines from the home town - I guess so they don't get lost. Harley and I visited that desert down south (technically north if you look at the sun, but I prefer this orientation). Good place to hunt mobs, but odds are you'll die there by yourself. We then visited the NPC villages, checked for any useful trades, and then set fire to everything when nothing of value was found (Harley did trade some of his wheat for an emerald... and then stole wheat back from their farm). Looks like superhyper has been super busy + this must be Mr Mellors' place Night view: Nether map (base circled): I'm uploading stuff tonight so server could be slow
  20. Sorry about the lag, I did scale the load-distance setting back last night but forgot to restart the server for that setting to take effect. (Couldn't do it at the time because Harley was playing). I'm updating the map and will try to get it online for all to access. Watch this space for a URL. ...and it's 1.14GB :oook: That'll be a few hours then (and I have no idea how long it will take to load from your end).
  21. I know a guy Sorry
  22. The sooner you buy the game the sooner they can release the ultimate version :toetap:
  23. hmmm, someone should fire up Driver SF and grab a shot there :hmmm:
  24. To be honest I don't think that many are playing FM5 online either (relatively speaking) :)
  25. Look in the wheel/controller driver settings in Windows for a setting called 'Combine Pedals' (or similar) and turn that setting off.
