  1. Cleaning your desktop is like cleaning your room with plenty of space under the bed :)
  2. Sharing desktop icons to me is akin to tweeting what I had for lunch - not my thing.
  3. So who upgraded for free and who didn't? I only upgraded PC's I don't care about so much (i.e. one connected to the TV and my gaming one which I treat as a console). My primary PC remains resolutely with Win 7.
  4. Remember FUEL? You could warp around a little bit but not directly to friends either (there was a dev cheat available to PC players). That game didn't last too long. MP servers is probably what keeps Minecraft going too. I'm also starting to doubt that there's not a whole lot more non-grindy stuff that hasn't been shown already. Sean himself said that he would expect most players to stop playing once they reached the center... maybe nothing that special is there after all and it's just pure simple gamification. The reason MP is so limited is because Sean wants to give us a certain experience. Well once we've enjoyed that experience I don't see it as impossible for them to extend MP a bit more. We know they plan to keep adding to the game (what other stuff could they add to an infinite based from an offline seed). There's already quite a bit of netcode in there as well. On the other hand, playing down the MP might be a clever excuse over a small teams difficulty in implementing something rock solid??? I'll play it for at least a month. FH3 will be out around about then.
  5. Default controls Sony PR confirms PS+ is not required to play online (for obvious reasons) 65daysofstatic say they will add more music to the game over the next year. N4G
  6. Before I received my Rift I heard many say it was brilliant but I also heard some disappointment as to the visual quality. I assumed it would be good enough for me not to care (which is true) but there are probably many others who are also unable to 'just try it' and wonder what they can expect to see if/when they finally get to wear one. So I took the mirrored output of one race and made the following visual edits to give a rough idea (don't shoot me if it's not 100% perfect) of what the Rift is like to look through: Yes you can see the black edges on the sides (you can actually see a little more above and below the edges shown here) but don't forget this image is hard up against your face and not half a meter away. In reality, the picture is a bit more dotty than this - I have compensated for the fact that you'll notice it less when focusing on where you are going (conversely, you'll notice it more if just watching a video).

  8. Over 3 Million took advantage of this month-long offer, according to a Ubisoft CFO, taking total players to over 8 million now, a 15% playerbase increase. Games With Gold offering... :: Team VVV
  9. No hurt intended Adam, just got very confused as I thought the first thing wasn't a joke but then Scott made it into one but was it really, well it turns out it was. Then there's the confusion over if Andy wants a proof reader or not. I know PLENTY of mistakes are made in online jounalism and that we only write about cars and games to a small audience but why should that stop us striving for excellence if the means (editors/proof readers) is there? ...and then laughing at them for letting mistakes through :smig: Isn't that what Andrew means when he refers to gaining experience?
  10. Speaking of proofreading... how do you have returning memories from before you were born, Camel? (I know what you mean but need to word it differently)
  11. Ai is one of the biggest things that keeps me coming back to Project CARS - I know if I get their difficulty number just right I can have battles against them on track 90% as good as if in a professional multiplayer league.
  12. I can proof read and even suggest article topics by leaving links to other news but I do not have the time or desire to write article-quality articles. Hopefully you're happy with my twitter contributions.
  13. If things get more expensive/harder as you get closer to the center of the galaxy, I imagine you'll want to have a good stock of units built up, because if you die (and you might die there more often) that basically all you'll have (and blueprints, etc) iirc. Trading is certainly going to be interesting (reminds me of a much older 2D game I played ages ago) but I fear it's what I'll get bored of first (or at least the cycle of mining, travelling, selling). If it integrates well with learning languages and forming alliances then that will help a lot.
  14. That was too fun to not go again - just one lap uploaded this time
  15. Almost deserves a bump in the retro gaming thread. This may just be the most fun race I've had in ages:

  17. 55 I'm actually surprised how good normal TV looks on it (the HD channels that is). Was watching a few YouTube clips last night which also looked spectacular. It as Android TV and Google Cast built in which is quite useful. Don't have to keep fumbling with inputs and menus. I could have streamed a movie to it from work yesterday just to mess with whoever was home but didn't. Soundbar is pretty nice too. Also has Google Cast built in. And bluetooth so you can hook anything up to it wirelessly just like say in your car. I just can't for the life of me get HDMI CEC working so that I can ditch the sound remote.
  18. When you're the underdog little guy* any news is good news I guess *Relatively speaking, in terms of potential customer base
