Cant Remove Ghost Files on Desktop.

Right, before you see the pics.. this isnt to do with what i was was downloading, i cancelled the downloads n the file paths stayed on ma desktop; But get this, they dont have a File Path!?!?!!?

Tried hitting F5 on the desktop?

A reboot usually sorts that out for me. If not, boot the laptop up in safe mode and use the Admin account (not yours) and delete them through there.

Always use Unlocker when you want to delete something and it says that some files are still in use. ;) It usually starts automaticly when such errors appear.

There is a freeware program called unlocker...

install it and right click the items you wish to remove and choose unlocker to delete

 

I had a load of folders with loads of rubbish in them appearing in my Backup drive that meant nothing to nothing but I could not delete any of them it said that they were being used by another program but nothing was using them?

I used Unlocker and it sorted them out and freed up about 3 GIG of space, I think that they were files that were being created by Windows updater? they were just Numbers...something like 13 or 15 digits long numbers and letters...
