Not to be a cloud of misery, but GT5 and NFS have brand nave behind them, although the new NFS will phail if it's like Undercover.

I assume you mean NFSW (HA! You did a double take, didn't you?), not Criterion's Hot Pursuit (which, actually, should be HP3 but isn't because EA doesn't believe in post-NFSU games), right?

 

Also, FM4 wasn't announced, really, but people assumed it was there because the Turn10 Kinect demo was an interactive trailer for an "above FM3" game.

In the latest Gamereactor about this new Hot Pursuit, both EA and Criterion say that the whole idea with Undercover kinda failed so they looked at MW for inspiration instead.

That's from the plunge into the Great Pacific, MW is not really the roots of NFS. History goes further than 2003/2004...
