Who would pay for this? The only people dedicated enough to pre-order are liable to be those that want the game because the driving part of the past games was so fun. Screw this and buy the Sims if you wanna waste your time in a game having an identity crisis.

Not thrilled. tbh, the only reason I go to the casino in the beta is because it has a nice driveway for photomode :p

If it's pre-order only I'm pretty happy to go without it to be honest.

I'm fed up of DLCs, pre-orders, special editions and whatever else that plague new releases these days. Buy this to get that when it should've been released from the start like all the good old games. Bah, I just want the friggin' game, y0.

i agree, the pre-order exclusives, the club only cars, this, it's starting to really piss me off actually, and not much does, but, this is. And i don't want it too...

Why are you all so worried about what you want? There are so many people that are liking this, TDU2 does something different for everyone, i've never seen a driving/racing game where you get the feeling that you are really rich. And this game is gonna make it true.

Still if you don't like the life beside the racing and driving, don't pay attention of it then and enjoy the cars that are in and the beautiful islands.

I can say, if you only want to drive? Go buy Forza or Gran Turismo, there you don't have to worry about your rich life. There are enough games that are only focussed on the driving itself. I just really love the concept of TDU2, having a own house, walking in my garage, meeting with friends online, going to the casino. It makes the game so much bigger then it already is.

that's my point though, i don't want JUST driving i want TDU2 with ALL it's features, not just a selection of them.

I have no objection to all the side show activity we keep getting shown. While trailer after trailer about social aspects is frustrating I see why they are doing it and it makes sense.

From browsing comments on TDU2 articles across various popular gaming sites it's becoming increasing clear that for anyone who likes racing/driving games TDU2 is pretty much a day one purchase. Similarly a lot of non racing game fans who were lured in by TDU's appeal the first time around also have it on their hit lists.

So with that, why try and sell a product to people who've already got it down as a purchase? The focus on the social aspect is pushing TDU2 to a wider crowd, the people who are usually put off by the idea of a racing game but once combined with almost RPG and adventure game like elements may be tempted into it. For the rest of us who are all about the cars it can create a false image of the game losing it's direction, which I am reliably ensured is not the case.

So while these trailers may not entertain us or excite us, there is imo an intelligent point behind them.

I've added the updated clarification by Destra to the first post now, I caught him in the early hours and asked him what you guys were asking and also what other communities were speculating and jumping to conclusions on and got it clarified.

@Who & @t: The achievements thing is fine, the release day disc will give the 1000GS on the Xbox 360 and the Casino will probably give additional.

BTW believe me when I say Atari are well involved and listening to the TDU/2 community so don't feel that you're not being heard or seen. :bunny:

@t.

It was a thought of mine, because i dont understand why to spend so much time and money in a feature which they sell now as DLC and if gamestop was right only for 10$?

And believe me, if Atari finds a way or the players want it, they implement real money in the casino and why not its just another money source and it seems they need many of them or why there are the DLC plans?

And im pretty sure as standalone game it would have happened.

If you just compare with pkr.com (which is the only one 3D Onlinepoker) and has no competitor, Atari would have been the second. And both look really similar and have similar features.

So with this facts is it really out from the world to have such thoughts?

Not out of this world but very unlikely. If real world gambling was to be included in the game it would raise the Age rating, for example the game would have to be 18 rated in the UK, or at least the DLC would be and this would apply to most other countries. Having real world gambling involved would also limit the countries in which the game could be sold as some countries, particularly in the Middle East have an out right ban on gambling.

Sure it would be 18 rated but its not a real problem, so i know there is no age verification at the online poker games or i didnt realized it, they just say its 18 rated if you making wrong information your account will be closed if they catch you.

So Atari had could sell it, as maybe 12 - 16 rated or something and if you want to play with real money you have to make an extra account which is only allowed for 18+ and thats the only thing for which is Atari responsible.

For the country thing, as a standalone thats no problem so they just not need to sell it in such countries.

I think to implement real money would be no big deal. I hope its clear what i mean?

So im happy there is no real money (for now) and no age discussion any more and the people can decide if they want to purchase the Casino or not.

I would rather TDU2 stayed at the current PEGI rating. having it 18+ will only unnecessarily reduce sales.

Gambling is taboo in certain countries anyway, so even then, more sales would be lost.

I think Atari/Eden have made the right decision in having it DLC only... Everyone can buy the game, but only those eligible can download the Casino.

That is what i meant.

So its a DLC or before should get standalone. It could get without any problems rating +18 because it has nothing to do with TDU 2. And in countries where gambling is disallowed, they not need to sale it there. We just should keep in mind that this were two different products or were supposed to do so.

So its a little shame, that Atari spend valued development time in a feature that they wanted to sale as standalone product which not really has something to do with TDU 2.

And I'm not the only person who is thinking in such a way.

Nope because you're thinking is wrong imo. The TDU2 Casino has always been about TDU2 in effect, I mean you can only win credits that can be coverted to money to use in the game. You also have a chance at winning cars and also clothes you may not find in the retail game.

The Casino was essentially to TDU2 as to what that Fable II arcade thing was to Fable II. A means of getting currency and items that can be used or shown off in the real game. The fact it was initially standalone means nothing as it was always intended for use with TDU2. I mean what would be the point of winning all that virtual money, an Audi R8 Spyder and some new threads and not be able to utilise them in anyway? There is no point hence it's all for the game.

Also some people were saying in suggestions and such that they would like to be able to play games and whatnot when they don't feel like driving/racing around, which you can probably blame GTA IV for that part.

I do feel it's a bit stupid to show a DLC trailer before the game is out for a few months though but then there could be a motive to this with the supposed pre-order announcement coming on the 26th of this month.

Thats all right, but its only one of the possibilities.

When i saw the first pics of Casino it reminded me in first way on PKR and there were not many informations about, what things will be included.

So if you say, whats with the cars and things, you can leave this behind if you only searching for real money Online poker, also the people who want only to win the cars they need not to use the real money part.

It is only a possibility that had could come, so they decided not and thats okay, i wanted to clarify that, because its not a dumb thought in times that Atari has not a real good financial position and STO and Champions are not so good, as they wanted.

I dont wanted to start a discussion again on this topic, i only wanted to show you, that it would be no real problem even the age restriction, its all things that can be solved and for that it would have been possible, that it gives real money in Casino Online.

And nobody can tell if there were such plans at Atari or not.

Well back in June no mention of real money was made either, I believe it would be far too much of a hassle to do something like that in a game. Now perhaps Eden could sell/license the tech for it for online poker sites or whatnot or create an actual standalone PC version outwith the TDU name and such but I can't personally think of any game that has ever required the usage of your own money to participate.
