Can you convert tdu2 sound into tdu1 sound?

Recommended Posts

I have a question because i have tried getting samples out of a tdu2 sound and tried to put them in a tdu1 sound.

Whenever i repack it, it's all fine until i start the game and fire up the engine there isn't a sound.

Maybe it is because of the size because a tdu2 sound file is way bigger than a tdu1 sound file.

Can someone please explaine or help me?

Tdu2 sound bnks dont have size limit

either you can put ADPCM.wav files either you can put PCM.wav files

It supports :

- From 4 bit to 16 bit wav sound files

- Mono (1 channel audio) or Stereo (2 channel audio) type Samples

- Maximum of 48K Hz samples (for PCM only)

Tdu 1 sound Bnk are limited to 768 kbits.

Only supports:

- Mono type samples

- 4bit ADPCM wav type

- Maximum of 44K Hz

Hope it helps :)

Cheers

Thanks for your help.

now i understand because when i tried to put samples from tdu1 into a tdu2 sound it did work, so i didn't understand why it didn't work reverse wise.

So it's great to see that someone with such great sound modding talent helping me out.

1 question to you, why do you say whenever anyone asks if you want to upload the unreleased sounds for tdu2 you say that you rather see this game dead. Is it because of all the lalalalalala handling and such compared to tdu1 or what is the reason? cuz i would really like to have some of your unreleased sounds.

WAV files for TDU1 must suit following format :

Codec : MS ADPCM

Freq : 44khz

Precision : 4bit

Channels : mono

I guess TDU2's wav files have to be converted first as quality is better (way not enough to make TDU2 a great game, sadly).

Thanks, i know tdu2 sucks but i think it is only the handling of the cars, like the gear shifting and unrealistic steering and such, tdu1 is just much more fun to play.

And btw thanks for the bnk unpacking program this gives me the opportunity to mess around with sound files and such its a lot of fun.

  • 11 years later...

I may be 11 years late but you can now (to anyone wondering the same as me)

all you have to do is use minibnk manager to extract both files (TDU1 and 2), rename the TDU1 files with the file name from the TDU2 file and move them into the TDU2 file folder

repack and it should have worked to at least 85% of the original
