Salon de TDUCK: New Car Releases

My main issue with it is that it tends to side nearer to McLaren than Alfa on the soul-o-meter. It just feels so technological and mechanical, it doesn't feel like the batmobile you'd get emotionally attached to, you wouldn't get upset if someone scratches one of its afterburners or if bird-poo stains the matt-black armour. You wouldn't wake up in the morning and hurry on down to your batcave to stare a it's lustful stance.

, with a pininfarini coach-built body this could have been stunning.

Oh dear lord. Those kidney's are ridiculous, about 70% too big. Give me an S-Class any day of the week. The interior looks pretty well, standard? Yes the seats look ridiculously comfy, but the rest of it doesn't really scream 'i'm the big $$$$ spender and i have something you dont have in your plebian 5 series' does it?

BMW need a reshuffle in their design department desperately imo. Look what this used to be...

Agreed. With each generation BMWs are less easy on eyes if you know what I mean. No clean lines, no instant "yes, that looks good even on the Internet." etc. One day, they're gonna eat me. I'm telling you, the previous gen was a looker compared to the newest 7er. It doesn't look dull or like a 3 Series as the stupid Jalop jerks say, it just doesn't look... alright?

Think you're wrong here, mate. It's a big step up from the 5 Series F10 and 7 Series F01/2. The F01 was kinda F10-ish, well, to be precise, the F10 was F01-ish as the 7 Series was introduced two years before the 5 Series.

I mean, yeah, not as much diamond stitching and huge ass TV screens as in the S-class but it looks very well executed and different enough from the rest of the BMW lineup.

I still don't believe they will manage to unveil the production Giulia next month given the fact that it looks like this at the moment:

of the Alfa Romeo Giulia that is going to be unveiled on June 24

 I'll have a 'sorry u r ryt' card sent to the postcode I gave you in the chatbox.

Not looking as if it's got the sleekest form in that pic tbh, but it's not worth judging anything by it so I shalln't.

Shown at Le Mans to celebrate the 60th birthday of Alpine. There IS a two-door coupé coming from Renault but they say this isn't it (?????WHY.DO.DIS.DEN?????), and that it's simply a design study.

I much preferred this Alpine design study anyway:

The RenaultSport Megane 270 has turned into a complete beast of a car, if the 2 door coupé can be anything similar to that then I look forward to this immensely, however I'm not getting my hopes up.

Jag has facelifted their flagship model, the XJ. Just some slight changes to the front end. Think the headlights now look a bit more smaller?

Well timed update, I imagine they did it purposefully to coincide with the 7-Series release, a bit like 'Oi, don't forget about us!'.

That car is 6 years old, I think the few facelifts it's had over the past 6 years have kept it looking pretty contemporary as some cars really start to date in 6 years. It was always a bit of a left-field choice compared to the German 3, and I still think it should be considered among them even though it and the A8 are much older than the S and new 7 Series. If it were my money, I think you'd be hard pushed to convince me to avoid getting a S-Class at the moment, and I think the XJ would be in second place but I think that's probably due to the whole patriotic brit jaguaaaaaaarrrrr thing.

When is the next A8 due, 2016?

Peugeot 308 GTI.

Looks rather good :hmmm: If you don't spec the two-tone paint you've got a very tasteful hot-hatch, similar to the Golf GTI in that it's quite understated and well, classy compared to the new Civic Type-R, though matching tracksuits, gold chains and primark are all more classy in comparison to the civic, ANYTHING is.

Two versions:

- 250bhp: 0-60 in 6.2 secs (£26,555)

- GTI 270bhp: 0-60 in 6 secs, carbon disk brakes, limited slip diff up front (£28,155).

I like :nods:

Type-R is not meant to be classy, it's meant to be fast. And i really doubt this Peugeot can be as fast as the Civic.

I like it though, just think it could look more sporty, since it's a GTi with 270bhp... :hmmm:

Civic Type R: 300bhp, 0-60 claimed to be 5.7 seconds.

308 GTI: 270bhp, 0-60 6 seconds.

I'll be more than happy being 0.3 seconds slower to be in a car that doesn't look like the type-r.

This is peugeot's first proper stab at a hot hatch in a fair while, so I wouldn't expect it to be class leading.
