My Worst TDU News :( [Maybe] No longer playable.

Recommended Posts

Now the last few days, my dad has been updating the security camera system at home. This new camera recording card has stopped readings from the DVD drives, so of course that means I can no longer get on TDU. I could of course use a Hack, but I wouldn't be able to get online, so no joy there :(

Now this means, if it cannot be fixed, no finish to TDU Top Gear  So either I cut it down and release it unfinished ... give all the raw files to Speed to finish it off :p Or post a highly HQ version on the net, and for someone else to download it and finish the jobb off :(

Also, this has happened just before the bloody release of the Megapack, which I suppose has saved me £6, but still, I havn't been able to joy in the fact I can have it.

Now in the summer holidays I had no previous gaming experience on PC, so bought the X1950GT for £85, so either dad will have to refund me some of it :p or when he gets his new work laptop, upgrade it to play TDU ...

Anyway, just a heads up that I may not be on TDU for a while :( And Enjoy the megapack people if I don't get back online :(

Maybe the megapack will work with the hack (I highly doubt I will actually resort to the hack as I have ahatred for people with them ...)

 ? Serious? :eek_blue:

How to fix that/can it be fixed? (Sorry if I am slow )

I don't know if it can be fixed :( He's been on PC all day trying to get it so we can dissable the camera card when we want ... but no luck
unlucky mate if that was me id tell my dad to go get another computer to put the security stuff on
That's the point, he bought the PC 4 years ago for the camera system and only just got round to putting it on. It's his PC, I just rammed the gfx card in as it was the onnly PC capable of running it without bad bad lag.

My point is why do you even need CCTV cameras in the first place? Don't you live in the country and not a city area? Why can't he fix the CCTV camera's up to the TV and not the PC or even another PC or laptop? Silly in my opinion.

Well lets say I don't live in a 1 bed bungalow house and our house is in the current state of (half off it) dissrepair and we're doing it up. This leads onto 2/3 points.

a) We don't really have enough "mental-'get-up-and-go'" to go and buy another £1000 PC, just so I can play TDU and NFS when Ii could easily get it on the PS2 ... as money needs to be spent on the house, we've already been doing it for 11 years.

b) Fixing the Cameras to the TV is all well and good, but how do you suggest recording 12 cameras on motion sensing similtaneous without buying 12 DVD-Recorderes which wouldn't be able to support motion sensing ...

c) CCTV wouldn't be able to work on the Laptop, as we need that Camera Card to fit in the PCI Slot. My brother's PC is 10 years old which barely runs XP :p Mine doesn't have any more slots for a camera card, and well yes my dad's PC has been talked about.

Maybe baldred could tell me how he got his CCTV system running on Laptop. As I'm not on MSN atm :S (Sorry if this is classed as personal info, please remove if it is :))

E: Oh and we've been burgled onnce already and we'vve had a few druggys in our "land" before trying to nick various ladders or hiding out in the log-house. So maybe we live in the country, but 3 sides of us is a Housing Estate :p with some handy woods for people to hide out. Some of it including our own.

who said you need a £1000 pc to play games on mine cost about 500 and it plays tdu easly
I was talking about that to get the cameras on. But I suppose £1500 was 4 years ago. and that then included the 19" LCD which has decreased in price and I already own. But still, I don't come from a spending family, I mainly save. And 500 for one game seems a bit extreme imo. But I suppose I already have the gfx card ...

My Mate is looking at £350 with the 8800GTS as it doesnt have monitor which is quite a good deal. But meh as I said, all this money for 2 games is a bit much imo.

Ok you have a point sorry for stating what I said, was a bit rude I guess. You have. Also PC's don't cost millions and you already have the graphics card and monitor. Why is it that your dad's pc can't take the card for the cameras though?

Brainwave :)

we swap the sound cards, HHDs and graphics cards over so I can play TDU in my room, then dad will just have my mobo which has 1 PCI-E slot for the camera card :) Just spoke to him about it and he thinks it is really the only option. And he will actually gain as his computer currently is like a hoover and mine is silent :p

i think the point he is trying to make is, Iced has the gaming PC which is actually the PC bought for the cameras, his dad has a work laptop, which can't take the camera's, well it could but it requires some serious program software and a security firm to do it for you, as it's all specialist stuff. So sorry iced i have no idea how you get it all to work on a laptop. I wish you luck in your endeavour to get TDU working again.

Baldred is correct. My PC is seperate and was bought cheaply as I invested in a bigger screen. I couldn't upgrade the graphics side to my PC as it was not capable of doing so. So used the family PC "mainly my dad's" for the graphics card ... :)
