I maybe would have increased the f a bit, to darken down that overexposed sky out the back, and maybe pointed the camera slightly to the right (rule of thirds). But thats just constructive criticism. Excellent shot!

I know you mean use -ve exposure comp rather than stop down the aperture ;) And it's a good point, but sadly the dynamic range (shooting in the direction of the sun in a shady forest!) was way too much for the little P+S and a darker shot I took lost too much shadow detail (unrecoverable - this shot already has some shadow and highlight detail recovered). I need a proper camera :p

 

Oh and I agree about rule of thirds, but in this case the scenery either side of the shot was pretty naff.
