How do you type?

Saw a poll & it got me thinking.

 

How do you type? I am a fairly fast typer but i have to look at the keyboard, i can't touch type. i wouldn't mind learning to touch type though.

 

Any tips from touch typists would be nice :)

i touch type but i can't offer tips as my mom enrolled me typing classes. yes at first i thought it was lame but it pays off. so after taking those classes, i practically memorized the entire keyboard. well, most of it. i still don't memorize the symbols above the numbers. :p

On my laptop and PC I can touch type but only with 4 fingers, anymore and I get confused and start pressing enter and caps lock.

 

Can't type at college, they have bent keyboards and ewwwww

I can type without looking at the keyboard, I make a letter mistake or such but I prefer looking at the keyboard, but I'm practicing to type without looking, and I type with all my fingers excluding my thumb...

Is that what touch type means? That you don't have to look at the keyboard all the time? xD Wouldn't mind learning that! xD

I never look at the keyboard these days, always touch-typing. The only thing I have a bit of trouble doing is knowing where all the symbols are. But hey.

Touch typing FTMFW! Although I can only do it properly on my Logitech Wave - on the rubbish keyboards at school (and anywhere else) I can type fast, but have to look more often.

Touch typing basically just not looking at the keyboard and type. May or may not use all fingers but just not look at the keyboard. Sometimes i type too fast and i jumble up the letters

I use like 5-6 fingers and type without looking. :) Want tips, well it`s just practice, when you type much or chat you`ll get used to it...;)

I type with just i think 7 fingers and don't look, but I seem to backspace a lot cause I forget to press spacebar.

I only use 2 fingers and touch type like crazy, I never look at the screen at all :). I learnt how to type using habbo... (the roleplaying bit, too hard to explain.)

 

if it helps i can type over 90 words a minute. o_O

i usually dont look at the keyboard but if i make a mistake i do.

Because I'm such a bad typer. I have to find the letter I want to use, then highlight it with the mouse, then drag in into the text box :(

i can type with ten fingers on the board at a time but recently i have had to use a few fingers and look down alot because my keys are damaged/unresponsive. generally i use a few fingers, just find it easier that way. I think slower than i type anyway :p
