  1. [headline]*meh* UPDATE[/headline] Put in a small update just now that will make the sharing of pages and items from the Media Gallery on social media that much easier for us (and you if you want) by implementing the Open Graph info into the main page, category and member pages as well as the viewing of the media item itself. Eh... what? :oook: This basically means that when you share a URL from the Gallery, the info shown on the post/tweet/etc on that service will use the title, text and image instead of randomly grabbing the banner image or someone's avatar and using that. As we said this is a bit *meh* in the grand scheme of things but it was one of those things we wanted to get working well and so have done. (we hope!) :para: Another change, which might be more welcome, is the lightbox (the thing that shows the fullsize image) has been changed to the one used on the forum. This one is better as it allows you to hit the icon on the bottom to maximise the size to eclipse that of your browser viewing window, rather than be constrained within like the one previously did. I also just want to say a massive thanks to those of you who use the gallery to post some of your amazing images and such. It's been fun seeing them showing up and I hope you will continue to do so. :bunny:
  2. Project Pagani CARS In light of the news that Project CARS had sold over 2 million copies comes the surprise announcement that a free edition is available now on Steam: Project CARS - Pagani Edition. This heavily streamlined version of the Slightly Mad Studios developed sim-racer features all five of the Pagani models that can be found in the main game and provides players with three tracks to race them on: the full Nürburgring layout of the 24Hour event (yay!), the Monza Grand Prix circuit and the in-house created paradisical Azure Coast. Out of the five Paganis available in this edition, 3 of them are variations of the Zonda, including the undeniably outrageous track-only Zonda R, with the other 2 being of the current Huayra model, one of which is the more hardcore Huayra BC. With full VR ability on both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive plus – as Panasonic liked to show us often – glorious 4K display support, the PC version has always been a showcase product for many a brand and it is obvious why when a glimpse is made of the game running on quality settings. For those who have held out on buying, this is the perfect opportunity to see what they may have missed and perhaps might even sway them into becoming customers of the full game. And should they decide to do so then they can use the turboduck liveried RUF, designed by Milli, that tduck – and former staff – member Ryzza5 generously allowed us to use as part of the perks he received for the level he funded the project at. Probably would have made sense to offer a nice discount on the game to coincide with the release of this though SMS… no? Source: Slightly Mad Studios
  3. That is a bit unexpected but very cool all the same and the fact it is Pagani makes this a no brainer to try for those who haven't already.
  4. Damn mau, awesome 599 GTO and Merc rear shots!
  5. Did everything to avoid having to use that abomination above when I played this game, but after such a long time it definitely has its charm. I can see that now.
  6. You're getting a real knack for this taking an excellent shot buddy. I like how many of them are magazine-like and put into all kinds of settings.
  7. Nice stuff, surprised to see BMWs from you though. :susp:

  9. Project CARS 2Million! Crowd-funded sim-racer Project CARS has now sold over 2 million copies Slightly Mad Studios have announced. A long time in the making and the first game that really ventured into getting ordinary people to dip into their own pockets in order to not only fund, but also to help shape the title into the vision both the developer and community had in mind, was an interesting one to watch. There was a few of us here at turboduck who participated in contributing to this project and despite a number initially jumping in for the originally touted Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, the change to the newer consoles was a tough one to swallow, but ultimately was the right one. And yes it has had its fair share of bumps along the road and certainly has its haters too. The Xbox One version in particular has suffered with performance issues and bugs, however for the most part, on PC and PS4 it is still one of the best games out there for racing fans. The multi-million sales of Project CARS validates not only our revolutionary racing simulation, but also our unique World of Mass Development platform. From the onset, we believed that our groundbreaking way of funding games, alongside our commitment to working with our customers and listening to what they wanted from a racing simulation, would push us in the right direction.” - Ian Bell, CEO at Slightly Mad Studios Hearing that the game has broken past the 2 million barrier is great to hear and bodes well for the sequel that is currently in development, this time with a different funding practice n place but still along the same lines as the previous in getting normal people involved. With the added competition from Assetto Corsa and the Forza series ever striving to reach new heights in what it delivers – and of course now being made for PC too – Project CARS 2 will find itself in a tough fight for the attentions of racing enthusiasts. Hell, maybe Gran Turismo Sport will turn out to be better than just a typical GT game and be another rival to contend with. Source: Slightly Mad Studios Hat tip to Ryzza5 for originally informing us of this.
  10. That looks really good, brings a new life to the game type thing. It is so weird seeing the original 'Egg after all the newer variations and Agera that is almost common the last few years.
  11. No problem, we will make the correction when the poll closes to avoid any problems that may occur.
  12. Porsche Now Available for Assetto Corsa In what has been a long and somewhat agonising wait since the reveal that Porsche would be coming to Assetto Corsa, the day of it actually happening for players has finally arrived! From today PC players can purchase Porsche Pack Volume 1 on Steam. Those looking to snap up all of the Porsche offerings throughout the three packs should really look into the Season Pass as it too is set at a very good price and delivers a proper saving compared to the more typical examples out there. Accompanying the content drop Kunos have released a smartly produced trailer, featuring the different models doing what they do best and of course incorporating some slow-motion action to really hammer home those acclaimed physics the title is known for. It’s been 12-years (!) since we have had a developer actually able to use the Porsche license without needing to go through Electronic Arts in some way, and it is about damn time too. EA basically squandered the exclusive agreement they had for too long and it is good to see a team – a small team remember – be the one to use Porsche as it should have been done for so much of that time. Assetto Corsa – Porsche Pack Volume 1 Porsche 911 Carrera S Porsche 918 Spyder Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 Porsche 718 Cayman S Porsche 917/30 Spyder Porsche 935/78 'Moby Dick' Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport The Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack Vol.1 is available now on Steam for PC and coming in November for PS4 and Xbox One. Assetto Corsa v1.9 Update – Free Panamera & Historic Silverstone! As if providing the first Porsche Pack wasn’t enough to fill the day there also comes the new update of version 1.9. This new update isn’t just the usual collection of bug fixes and improvements, though naturally these are a part of it. Version 1.9 brings with it the first of the 3 free Porsches to come, the Panamera G2, along with a new Historic 60s Silverstone track. And to add to the list of famous motoring brands who want to feature in AC, a small but nice detail change will see your virtual racer kitted out in official Sparco driver suits and gloves. UPDATE://1 - Images of the free Porsche Panamera and Historic Silverstone track added. Another notable mention is that the audio department has received some really nice updates, with the team having reworked the sounds in many areas: the development team has reworked FMod interaction within the game, optimizing memory and CPU usage and improving the entire sfx engine, resulting in a much better sound environment and immersion - Assetto Corsa forums The full list of what comes with v1.9 can be found below: Assetto Corsa – v1.9 Changelog - New Porsche 991 Carrera S (Porsche Pack #1 DLC) - New Porsche 918 Spyder (Porsche Pack #1 DLC) - New Porsche 718 Cayman S (Porsche Pack #1 DLC) - New Porsche 917/30 CanAm 1973 (Porsche Pack #1 DLC) - New Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 1974 (Porsche Pack #1 DLC) - New Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport (Porsche Pack #1 DLC) - New Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick 1978 (Porsche Pack #1 DLC) - New Porsche Panamera G2 Turbo - New Silverstone 1967 historic track - Added session time/laps on the top of the screen (laps are the leader ones) - Now race is over when the car complete its lap and the leader has finished his last one - Added dynamic ARB - Fixed possible collision still active on race restart - Added ERS recharge digital display - Improved precision on all digital leds - GT3 cars use tire model v10. - Fixed TC sound distortion when triggered for the first time - New camber grip variation formula (Thank You Nao!) - Simplified DirectX 11 initialization - Added official "Sparco" license to Assetto Corsa - Added Ballast system through Ballast App (single player only) - Added new F9 vertical layouts - Added new driver + crew texture system - Added new personal driver texture - Fixed virtual mirrors rendered when not necessary - Fixed Kers and ERS able to rev in neutral and reverse gear and overrev the engine - Improved FFB App UI, so label is readable by VR users - Added multiplayer splits - Added Time Table leaderboard mode: this includes realtime splits and delta - Added Fmod optimizations - Added Anti-Wrecker protection - Fixed AI "flapping" DRS in traffic - Improved autoshifter - Improved laptimes board by adding splits and tyre compound - Fixed backfire animation freezing after session change - Fixed leaderboard history in multiplayer - Added voting spam protection - horizon locked view removed from Bumper camera - Delta App reviewed - Fixed possible flickering in case of engine stall - Added backfire animation to Zonda R - python new functions and members - getCarTyreCompound(carid) - Tyre blister and grain are now tied to the "Wear" settings and not "Damage". Wear=0 will turn off graining and blistering simulation - Fmod updated to 1.08.12 - Updated SDK for modders - Removed reverb snapshot in the Fmod project - General audio engine code cleaning and bug fixing - Vastly improved Fmod resource usage - Voice stealing is now properly managed by code, so the sound mods will follow the same behaviour of the original sound banks - Fixed listener priority for cars in pits. This fixes stuttering when a surface event is triggered for the first time and should limit "digital clicks" - Fixed multiplayer opponent surfaces sound when it leaves instantly (e.g acs proces kill/crash) while driving on sand/kerb/etc... - New dirt sound effects - New brake squeal for some "old" cars - Added audio fade when track camera changes - Added [VERSION] section in audio.ini - Removed [LATENCY] section in audio.ini (managed by FMod itself now) and from the GUI - Slightly modified gear grind sound - Fixed wrong listener position for track and car cameras in some situations - added DRL on LaFerrari, Mclaren P1, Nissan 370Z Nismo, Nissan GTR and Ford Mustang - added templates for Porsche Vol. 1 cars - fixed excessive brake light brightness on Ford Mustang - minor graphics fixes on Triple Pack cars - [Modding] added harvest series function in digital_instruments [KERS_RECHARGE_SERIE] - [Modding] added 918 Spyder-style full power usage series function in digital_instruments [POWER_918] - Added PACKER_RANGE_HF and PACKER_RANGE_HR for heave springs packer settings in setup.ini - Packers now use bump stop rates Source: Assetto Corsa forums UPDATE://1 - Posted October 26th, 2016 @ 19:00 pm GMT
  13. Steaming Ahead With Next Porsche Pack Info The first Porsche Pack for Assetto Corsa isn’t even out yet but through another appearance on Steam it is likely we may know the content of not only the next pack but all of them, including their release dates! Brought to our attention by tduck member Kelvjy (cheers ears!) and found on the official Assetto Corsa forums, it looks like content updates have been posted to Steam detailing what their intended contents will be, together with 'work in progress' renders of the models to come. Posted along with their intended release dates, the two packs contain more iconic Porsche machinery such as the ludicrous 962c and the modern day track monster of the 911 GT3 RS. In what would have been a nice surprise, Porsche Pack Volume 2, listed with a release date of November 22nd, will again include 7 models but in 9 configurations as the 718 Boxster and 962c come in two versions as seen below. Porsche Pack Volume II – Contents (non-confirmed) Porsche 911 GT3 RS Porsche 718 Spyder RS Porsche Cayman GT4 Porsche 718 Boxster S Manual Transmission Porsche 718 Boxster S PDK Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 Porsche 911 GT1 Porsche 962c Long Tail Porsche 962c Short Tail To end the year off, the Porsche Pack Volume 3 is down for December 20th and puts more of an emphasis on the racing pedigree of the famous marque. Featuring 7 models, the focus on modern day racing cars is clear with the inclusion of the entire 991 GT3 racing line and the latest Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid. Porsche racing isn’t just about the now and this is shown no better than with the incorporation of another racing legend, the 917 K and the perhaps lesser-known 908 Lang-Heck. The last of the three packs is also set to deliver one of the most wanted road cars that Porsche offers today. Even if you have the money for it there is no guarantee that you will get one. Produced in only 1000 units, the 911 R harks back to the older philosophy of it being all about the car, driver and the open road. Not so much a track-attack car but one for hitting everyday roads and just enjoying the thrill that driving delivers. How this will and can be put across in the game is something that will be interesting to see. Porsche Pack Volume III – Contents (non-confirmed) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 R 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 Porsche 908 LH Porsche 917 K Porsche 911 R As pointed out by some however, there are some favourites missing such as the Carrera GT and 959 but with a case like this there is always going to be something missing when you don’t have 100% of the back catalogue being distributed. Personally I am impressed with their selections and the configurations being included too. It seems a shame that this has happened and as much as Kunos Simulazioni would love to make it all go away, that is just not going to happen and it is all out there. We are still missing some images of those from Porsche Pack Volume 3 but those will come in time with the more typical teasing that AC and especially Marco Massarutto has become well versed in. Remember though, all of this is subject to change and the contents could be moved, replaced or even removed entirely as nothing has been officially confirmed by Kunos. Either way, they certainly do have some sweet offerings available to tide players over into the new year. 14. If they are behind this then I am not used to it. Would make sense as they are already hinting and admitting to stuff for next year.
  15. There's never been a real issue in offering a Season Pass with no mention of the actual content. Unless I am thinking this is acceptable on the consoles and Steam is different? :hmmm:
  16. Does this mean it was added wrongly as surely Steam must allow you to add stuff and hide it from public display or something? And yeah I seen that hinted at on Marco's page about Laguna Seca but shortly after saying that he posted that video from Rennsport with a confirmation. He likes to be cryptic but in a fairly easily decipherable manner.
  17. Niiiiice! Where is this info and media coming from? edit:// nevermind I found it. :)
  18. It's got nothing to do with the game guys (except for maybe TDU2 but that's more a joke than anything serious). There is only a max of 3 votes to dish out and unless the person likes your image enough to give it one of them then chances are others will take the spoils instead. I don't pick favourites or anything and I have hidden the voters in this one to stop people being influenced maybe too. Realise it's nothing personal it's just the opinion of that person on who they feel deserves their vote(s).
  19. POLL OPEN! Don't forget if you entered and can vote* then you MUST vote, for your entry to be valid! Excellent turnout in this one, a lot of top entries over a fair variety of games. *new members who entered but are unable to vote are exempt from this rule
  20. ENTRIES CLOSED! Please be patient as we collect the entries and get the poll up! :p
  21. Should be fine, fits in with the requirements and the theme. :) Welcome to the :duck: !
  22. We are now only days away from the first Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack becoming available and the media drops from Kunos just keep on coming. On their official Facebook they appear to be in the swing of showing videos and images of each Porsche model that will be included in the pack, however as spotted by top sim-racing outfit Inside Sim Racing, they may have had a bit of a jump start in releasing a collection of images early on the Assetto Corsa Steam page. A number of official images went up showcasing the different models that will be included in the Volume 1 DLC. Since taken down, a number of outlets managed to snag the images before they were removed. The images show nothing new, just better views of the vehicles to entice players to pick up the pack itself or splurge for the very reasonably priced Porsche Season Pack that entitles buyers to all 3 packs for an actual notable discount. Still no word on the PS4 and Xbox One releases but it is hopeful that they will not follow too long after the PC which will see the pack become available on Steam from this Tuesday, October 25th. 23. Late on this but the final day was a pretty good one with some amazing racing. Great to see Flash take it again though I wouldn't have minded if Turkington was to the one as he seems to be a class act and not get much recognition for it in a way. I mean when he won the title he never had a drive the next year, which is just ludicrous! Plato showing himself as a crybaby was quite good to see, hammering after Turks and basically bringing the pack onto his tail which could have so easily erased Turk's chances of winning the Driver's title by causing him a puncture or just forcing him into an error for no reason at all showed just how for himself Plato is. You could see after Turkington took the first win for Subaru how much it aggrieved Plato as the whole Subaru thing was his idea, his baby and so he should have been the one to do the firsts for it. Don't be surprised if Turks is out of that team is what I say, though I guess that depends on how much influence Plato really has over it all and personally I hope it's very little. As a whole, there were some boring follow the leader races and certain circuits will always turn out that way and the whole question of FWD vs RWD and such rears its head yet again along with the typical boost amount and what not. In saying all that though, it is still a damn good series and produces some exceptional racing and drama and I cannot wait for the 2017 season to start and will be keeping a beady eye on news about the drivers and teams who will be taking part again or making a brand new introduction due to catching the interest of others. I also hope we lose some of the gravel hunters and lesser drivers as it would be truly great to have more front runners mixing it up throughout the pack and delivering much needed information and knowledge to them more than they can currently get with those they have at the moment.
  24. With the C and E-Class I always prefer the Estate versions. It never used to be this way. In fact the C43 is one of my favourite looking sport saloons but the latter versions imo look better in their estate renditions.
  25. I'm disappointed this isn't a Ratatouille type scenario. :p
