That's not going to help the battery - you'll have to drive it, for at least 30-45 minutes. :)- 1,648 replies

Does this count as your one thread, Camel?

TDU1 came with a disclaimer from the support team that it didn't like laptop GPUs and that potential customers should think about other platforms, so you might just be out of luck here. Also keep in mind that running any game in windowed mode saps more performance than running the same resolution in fullscreen, as there are other things on screen to render now. Windowed mode at 1080p probably won't work to well with things like the taskbar and title bar getting in your way.

I wouldn't be too concerned about repeating missions for gold just now - if you're just ticking them off it would be better to do it much later with a much better car - also you'll probably be needing to get platinum medals later anyway. Some shift timings seem accurate, but fast modern cars like the MP4-12C should have absolutely zero gear-change lag in sequential mode with auto clutch. Similar to TDU, I find clutching-in and taking the foot of the gas with a dead straight wheel is the best way to handle big landings. Improved suspension parts later on also help here. AI catchup might be more of a feature of the easy/normal races compared to the harder ones later. My McLaren wasn't as fast as recommended and so I'm not winning the first "Hard" race with Alita. I did the hour long race from Midwest Air Base to New York and kept fighting with two faster cars (using NOS and slipstreaming, and generally better cornering). I should have waited behind in 2nd for the final straight to slipstream across the line, but instead tried to block and ended up in 2nd. Having to choose the type of manual you want involves more work yes but it isn't exactly a terrible thing either, since we now have choice. I would suggest going to sequential automatically for cars that have 7 forward gears. Agreed with engine noise, although it does make the sudden appearance for low flying aircraft much more dramatic  I tested for the auto-brake yesterday and found it had been removed. It used to occur under 50kph but didn't - and I also didn't have the old problem of always stopping short of mission pads. Yes, loads of inertia and weight shifting in this game - makes scramble skill challenges difficult when offroad. Server appears good from the standpoint that I've just about always been in a near-full bubble with other players, although I've heard that this is causing problems when friends want to join up. I also keep seeing Xarlith on the large map when I suspect he isn't in that location. (Was in one spot for a very long time - perhaps a lunch break). Tried clicking on him to join but had no success. Last night I was kicked out 3 times and asked to restart the game. At least the errors messages are more descriptive.

less grippy (or just more power to overcome the grip). Depends what car you have I spose. I've held a few high speed drifts ala TDU1 style in the MP4-12C on the highway. You can feel weight shifting. If you don't give consideration to it you will spin out. So there are realistic traits... I'm just not drifting around every corner.

Bought The Crew? Played The Crew? Discuss The Crew! Similar to the pre-release and beta discussion threads, today we start a new chapter with the full release - so put those discussions here. Please make sure you use spoiler tags [] as appropriate. So far I've basically redone the story missions up the point of the PC beta. Time to head you-know-where... but after lunch. Handling still feels very much like TDU1 without Hardcore mode and with a couple of assists relaxed. I've driven a couple of non-Street tuned cars, and yes, you can slide the cars mid corner, but there's no refinement in the wheel controls so you either play it safe or crash. I've been driving the Z4 which is nicer than all those muscle cars anyway, so I'm not completely in a state of frustration just yet. I'm not looking forward to the Perf races as they can be a big handful (did the RUF race into Chicago and just kept everything easy). Just like in the beta, the force feedback in my Fanatec wheel completely disappears every 5-10 minutes for about 30 seconds, sometimes at very bad timing. I was trying to help the cops arrest someone in my session, which took for ages (good on him), although I was able to occasionally cheat by jumping around on the map. You have to be careful though, as contact with the police nets you a wanted level, and if your wanted level goes above theirs (or they escape or get arrested), you immediately become the most wanted and are chased. On this occasion I did successfully get the guy arrested and also escaped, but it took a good 8 minutes or so. Graphics are improved on PC from our last two betas. Make sure you update your nVidia drivers and use the GeForce Experience app to optimise your visual settings for The Crew.

What are the best trailers you have ever seen?

Maybe not best ever, but simple and good: -
the crew The Crew Xbox 360 Gameplay - Nice one Asobo!
Ryzza5 replied to Eudemon's topic in Driving & Racing Games
I s'pose it's only next gen if you haven't bought either new console yet ;) X360 version seems better than expected - I'm only noticing lower resolution, lower anti-aliasing and (ok this isn't good), bits of lag. Hard to believe but it looks better than the FH2 port. -
the crew The Crew OFFICIAL TDUCk Club Sign-Up Thread Thing

Except it isn't -
Yes, a very good trailer - in parts reminded me of the NFS2SE trailer way back in '95. You can see them really pushing the idea that, even if you want a single player game because you have no friends, you should be able to just meet up with random people that drive well and crew up with them.

TDUF - Most advanced modding tools for TDU so far!
Ryzza5 replied to Djey's topic in Tools / Others Mod
I can write a basic noob app in VB.NET or C#, time permitting. Just email me how you think the two items would communicate. -
Players with Xbox Live Silver or PlayStation Network accounts will be able to play the game, enjoy Free Ride across the US map, cross other players’ paths, and participate in all the asynchronous activities that THE CREW offers. However, in order to communicate with others and to dive further into the multiplayer experience with Co-op and PvP, either an Xbox Live Gold or PS+ membership will be required.

TDUF - Most advanced modding tools for TDU so far!
Ryzza5 replied to Djey's topic in Tools / Others Mod
If you're going to be writing a tool to add new cars I wonder if it's worth building it into a proper car mod manager (including rims and sounds, cameras, IK, transmission/physics, etc) to make things noob friendly. Mod makers could put the relevant information into a .ini or .xml file that is read by your program. -
