"Evaluation: poor". ;) That's the infamous small overlap test, Euro NCAP doesn't do that and a lot of German premium cars have been rated badly from IIHS. Car makers seem to adjust their cars for the regulations only just receive 5 stars. That's not an easy topic, however.

I've never been a big fan of Mercedes but that new one actually looks really nice, inside and out.

I feel the opposite, the non-AMG pre-facelift E-class's front fascia looked better than this new version. I like what they did with the interior and rear end, though. The suspension also seems to be better, the previous version was criticized for harsh ride on bigger than 17" wheels and AMG package.

My mate left the camera on for the stage, other friend took pictures and such, Enjoy a mix of engine notes that scream Rally!

Looks like a great car that ticks a lot of boxes, but I'm wondering if that takes away part of the fun of driving it. I wouldn't say it looks bad on the outside, but just a bit to plain for its performance, compared to the Golf R which actually looks aggressive/sporty. I'll take one for a test drive next year anyway. If anything the S3 sedan looks better than the hatch.

Indeed, the S3 looks a bit dull and boring, personally I'd take the Golf R any day. But I'm pretty sure that "Golf R or S3" is a matter of taste, some people will like the s3 more, but not me.

I prefer the Golf R for the external looks, and the badge (not sure if I'm ready to be labelled an Audi driver yet), although I'm not sure if I like the concept pics of the new Golf R and haven't seen the proper reveal yet (next month). Plus the new Mk7 interior while technically better hasn't completely won me over. Then of course the Audi is quicker, has more techie features, Internet access, etc. Although I'm not a massive fan of the plain dash, the circular air vents, and the pop-up screen. But that's going off video footage since I haven't sat in one yet.
