they have been in trouble for quite a while. they got lucky when Konnigsegg people bought Saab from GM. i don't think they will be that lucky this time, which is a shame they seemed keen on fixing what GM ruined

They're dead. :( Even if someone wanted to rescue them GM would quickly shut down those plans. They have told Victor Muller that they will never accept any business plans no matter how he and the potential clients set it up.

 

I'm surprised they managed to survive for this long, but I guess it was doomed from the start.

Although not being crazy for Saab, I liked the way their cars looked. It's sad to see them go after they've started producing fresh cars like the new 9-5. They definitely had the potential, but not the cash :(

I'm actually sad about this. Saabs may have never been the pioneers of automotive technology, but they were, if nothing else, different. They were not afraid to step outside of the box while other manufacturers made the same old thing. it is truly depressing when you look at the designs of their newest 9-4 and 9-5 models. They are excellent vehicles and will more than likely become collectible someday.
