I explored really far away, (Is it bad?) but the railway lag and the other lags were there since the first day i joined the server/game. Same happens with a horse.

So I've been reading a guide for server admins to improve performance and came across this paragraph

Great, so trying to prevent lag is what created it, and now telling it to use more performance is making it run better. Who would have thought? :p

 

I might try and push it a little more.

Edit: This thing about die and lose everything made the game a lot more complicated. I lost many things this time i played. Including my enchanced pickaxe... i died in a cave, and when i went back there to pick my things up, a creeper exploded over it.

 

:/ Not to mention many other things that i was carrying.

Sorry about the lag, I did scale the load-distance setting back last night but forgot to restart the server for that setting to take effect. (Couldn't do it at the time because Harley was playing).

 

I'm updating the map and will try to get it online for all to access. Watch this space for a URL.

...and it's 1.14GB :oook: That'll be a few hours then (and I have no idea how long it will take to load from your end).

I have 30GB free on C:\ , not sure how that is relevant but anyway :hmmm:

 

Interesting to see how people like to explore in straight lines from the home town - I guess so they don't get lost.

 

 

 

Harley and I visited that desert down south (technically north if you look at the sun, but I prefer this orientation). Good place to hunt mobs, but odds are you'll die there by yourself. We then visited the NPC villages, checked for any useful trades, and then set fire to everything when nothing of value was found (Harley did trade some of his wheat for an emerald... and then stole wheat back from their farm).

I went to right side of my house the other day... but get lost is not really a problem to me anymore, as i have a map. That's my 3rd attempt on doing a good map, but i keep dieing and losing it. Lol
