Congratulations to Prophecy for winning the Driving Game Screenshot of the Week last week.

* Stick to the implied theme (don't look for technical loopholes)

* Images must not exceed 2048kB, and be at least 990px wide by 340px tall.

* Each person who enters must cast a vote in the same week to remain eligible. You may not vote for yourself.

* Winning image must not be of TDU2 as you risk account suspension.

* Winner picks the next theme, unless winning consecutively, in which case the runner up decides.

* Winner has 48h to PM a new theme to me or another member of staff if I'm away, if they fail to meet this then the theme will be a free round.

* Competition is limited to games on all platforms of any age that are classified as driving/racing games. (i.e. FPS games that have cars in them wouldn't be eligible). Please mention what game your screenshot is from.

* Minor non-enhancing editing permitted (cropping, addition of your name, etc) is permitted, as long as the actual screenshot isn't tampered with. Just like all these other comps.

I just want to clarify a little on this- this can be rally homolgation models (lancia 037, delta, audi quattro, ford escort, evo etc), your general touring cars (alfa 155, etc), and your road going versions of le mans cars such as the nissan r390 (the only one that came to mind). If your unsure of whether the car you chose is legal/eligible, maybe just post in a comment 'i want to use ______' and ryzza and i will decide whether its ok.

No idea if this meets the requirements - Matt couldn't even pick a theme, just gave me a vague description :fp:

Standard road car with a livery

these themes are getting pretty ridiculous,

there's nothing wrong with recycling great themes people!

not only you have to pick a road legal racing car , it has to be in between those years ?

man good luck with that

Posted

Weren't the majority of all road going racing cars from that era anyway? i.e. Mercedes, Ford, BMW touring cars, various rally cars (already mentioned)

Posted

Yeah theres a lot of cars between 1980 and 1999 that were race cars guys, its really not that hard :\ YES ryzza, the e30 is a perfect example of an eligible car.

edit: 'good luck with that' he says, ffs, good luck not finding a car that was a racecar built then, you'd be harder pressed finding a car since 99 that doubled as a racecar.

I don't think you know what a road going version of a racing car is.

e30s mercs groupb cars, all those are already existing road cars that have been converted into racing cars.7

An example of an road going version of a racing car would be maserati mc12 or aston martin dbr9 or ferrari 308 gto

Touring cars are racing cars. It doesn't matter if the road car or the race car came first. The theme is "Road Legal Versions of Racing Cars"

i'll rattle off another couple of names that might help you out:

Mercedes 190E, WRX 22B, Ford Sierra Cosworth RS, Ferrari GTO

edit: Ozz, mate, dont start alright- you dont seem to understand the term homologation (i mentioned it several times in my first post). Do some research.

it does, if they're designed to be racing cars in the first place, then you can release a road going version of it.

If it has been converted into a racing car , those are just cars with racing pedigrees

Real simple guys. Find a car made between 1980 and 1999, GOOGLE IT if you have to find out whether its been raced (preferably factory backed), if it has, great, post here- if it doesnt qualify (i'll google it before i disqualify anything) i'll let you know. Before you choose a car, maybe google dtm, btcc, atcc, group a touring cars (thats the class that the R32 GTR dominated, and got the Skyline banned from touring car classes- there, another example of a car you CAN use), and group b rally. you'll find a plethora of cars to choose from that way.

only because if I had put something like this

-- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --

some ''lalalalalalalala'' would've said that's not a road going version of a racing car, it is just a road car.

Next thing you know your pic is not in the voting

once again the theme wasn't clear enough and I just wanted to make sure if it was what I was thinking of.

Of course it's an instant testosterone fight, I don't mind it

My entry. It fits the theme.

If i may say, this theme is a lot more open than the "AWD Supercar" one, but nobody complained about it because it was easy. Just get a Lamborghini or a R8 and you're fine. Now, this one has a lot of cool forgotten cars. Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, Renault 5 Turbo, Ford RS200, Mitsubishi Starion, Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R LM Road Car, Nissan R390, Toyota GT-One, Delta S4, not to mention the other ones already mentioned.

Just my 2 cents.
