Ooh yes, I collect mainly 1:64 cars (since they're really cheap and easy to find, aka Hot Wheels, Matchbox, etc.) and I focus on collecting the real, licensed cars that I like rather than the awkward-shaped fantasy ones. I also have a 1:24 2010 Shelby GT500, and I want to get more 1:24 models as well. Right now I have about 120+ 1:64 cars, and here's a couple pics that I attempted "realism" with:

I have a fair amount of 1:18 scale diecast cars, not sure if I've posted pics of them before but I'll have a look for some old pics or take some new. Recently my nephew has damaged a few and when my kid brother was younger he broke 2 of my best, both BMW's in fact a UT E30 (quite a rare car) and a black E46 CSL by Kyosho which can now command close to £100 since they don't make them anymore. I have many from Maisto as that's what I bought when I was younger and one or two Bburago's. The cream of the crop was my Kyoshos but now they are gone I only have 2 decent models left; these being a UT Porsche 993 GT2 (very rare!) and an AutoArt Evo VII.

 

I don't really collect anymore not only due to lack of funds needed to do so but also they get hell of a dusty out in the open so until I can get a good display case I'll be holding off. :)

ebay tends to have some good deals for them. They RRp around 44.99 but on ebay you can get them for about 35.

Not entirely complete, I know for sure some of the 1/42 cars are missing, many of em were Ferrari's given to me by my aunts and were from an old promotion of Shell which earned you pullback cars after refueling your car. I also have an SLS-AMG 1/12 pre-ordered but it can come any day, it could be tomorrow, or december 31st 23:59:59.999.

Bloody hell!! Never realised AutoArt's went so steeply up in price since the last 2 years. You could normally get 1 for about 49.99-54.99 and ebay could save you a tenner. Looking now though it's like 70 quid is the norm for the things. Yikes!

Autoarts are indeed expensive, on the website they go up to 150 for 1/18's, not even limited editions, and their 1/12's go at around 400 to 500 euro's, while I have pre-ordered a high quality one at Premium Classixxs for just under 200. What I would consider a pure rip-off is the fact Autoart not only has normal 1/18's so expensively priced, but also sealed-shell 1/18's which are mostly cars like the C-Class DTM. Sealed body (written on the pictures as if it's a unique feature) means you can't open anything, no bonnet, no trunk and no doors.

 

I payed around 89,90 for my 1/18 190E, but perhaps you could take a look at the carmanufacturer dealers, maybe they sell dealer editions of the same cars for lower price and same quality.
