Hi,
something did corrupt TDUF configuration file, it seems.
To solve this, delete file at Users\You\.tduf\tduf.properties then restart the tool.  You will have to set TDU Database directory again, though.
 
I'm aware of global crash when configuration is corrupt, that's a thing I have to fix on a future release (but I don't have planned it yet).

Hi everyone, I would really like to learn how to make my own car mods for the game and help contribute more cars for everyone to enjoy for free and am hoping someone can point me to the tools I need to convert the models for cars for TDU and how to do it.

Its a huge list which is why I uploaded all the folder, but I will try to remember, this includes most vehicle variants like bodykits unless otherwise specified:
There are couple of sounds that were in platinum that I've switched around, for example the 430 Scuderia sound is now on the normal F430 while the Scuderia got a newer, more aggressive sound.

After deleting the radial.cdb file we would often create a folder with the same name (including .cdb).  This would prevent the game from creating that file again.  The file was never necessary but often caused game issues after some time.

Hello everyone, sorry if I made a late introduction, I just got a small time to do this fortunately:
I am Ztryka, 22 years old, my birthday is 1 week from this date's post, I am a passionate gamer, particularly in Open World Sandbox games, driving and racing games are absolutely my favorite! I am also an online gamer in few games, but not much love as I love games and videos about cars, I have been in Discord servers like NFS, GTA, etc.. If I ever had a dream car, it would be a '65 Lincoln Continental (I had a Hotwheel Diecast of this one, I love the suicide doors).
In real life, I am a part-time businessman in my family business (we are only 2), my job is a payment collector and assistant of my sister. I love music, any kind that is uplifting and upbeating, I enjoyed 70s disco, 80s pop, 90s and 2000s pop, R&B and dance music. I am a passionate car lover too, that's why I love to play car games, usually drives JDMs in-game. Been practicing manual later on in my gaming life.
My first contributions to Turboduck is sharing a save file for TDU as well as an ongoing mod (those who chat with me already know this hehe).

Yo Blake, welcome, I enjoyed reading your story, it was like me, my childhood during the year 2000s, but replace the xbox part with the PC, since I am a PC player since the beginning of my gaming life (I only do consoles cuz of my brother or my cousins).
Ever since I play games like NFS series, GTA series, Driver: Parallel Lines, etc etc. those maps looked very small
Unfortunately, I haven't heard about Test Drive Unlimited, ever. It was only this year I recognize it and enjoyed the game much longer than the other games I played, especially when I do not use cheats, it feels satisfactory to buy a car and house with hard-earned money.
People were so right that TDU has this magic that no other driving games can achieve during its time, even games today like the Horizon series.
I will look forward with a TDU roadtrip session with you, Blake, see you on O'ahu!

Hello, I'll do my best to help.
 
Try to delete the Test Drive Unlimited folder in Documents, then start TDU and create a profile and finish the tutorial (until you go to your house part).
Then exit the game and copy and paste the profile folder in the newly created Documents TDU Folder.
 
Another way is download this file and paste it in Documents > Test Drive Unlimited > savegame.
Like Mr. Crimson said, backup all your profiles first before doing this.
 
EDIT: New method is to try to delete radial.cdb in X: (Usually C:) > ProgramData > Test Drive Unlimited > Uncheck Hide Protected Operating System Files and Check Show Hidden Files to see radial.cdb in the folder > Delete > Start TDU and play the game (Playing the game creates new radial.cdb to fix profile problems.)
ProfileList.dat

The ProfileData file needs to overwritten with this profile but make sure you backup all profiles and files in the savegame location. Should work then.

Sounds like a blatant complaint to me.

About the last 2, they are hardcoded features for TDU 2.
For day and night cycle, use the Hawaiian Bliss mod by kristiannn which can be found at the link above my post.

For my feedback regarding the current updates, about the expert AI mod, yeah gives me a run for my money, between checkpoint 2 and 4 in "Tour of the Island" race, that one AI racer pushes the limits of stock top speed, only my upgraded top speed can surpass it, this will be challenging in bike races supposedly as well.
97% progression, 5,000 mile achievement is the only one to get the Ace rank, TDU:P made the game more fun to play, having 70+ hrs in my game time in stats lol.

Just buy the car or test drive it and you'll see that everything is just fine.
It's a thing of some dealerships to display the colors in a different shade of their real appearance.

Well, I don't want to make big proclaims, but there is a very good possibility that I solved the issue.
 
Today, after work, I did some more test. A 25 minutes run with the GT86, a car that never presented any problem before. And, after 25 minutes of gameplay, the RAM usage of the game was around 400 mb. No problems whatsoever.
Then I did a second test. I rebooted the game, and switched to the Skyline R32. The first 10 minutes of gameplay went on smooth, with the RAM usage around 300-400 mb. But then, suddenly, the game started eating RAM. 100 mb every 2 minutes, till it reached around 1 GB  of total usage at the 25 minutes mark. And then the FPS tanked. Just like yesterday. The GPu went to 99% of total usage to 20%.
Then my brain started to working. What if the executable can't use more than 1 GB of RAM? That would explain the drop, since the lock on RAM usage would bottleneck the GPU, getting it to perform only 20% of its power.
So I used the legendary (in the rFactor community, at leat) "4 GB Patch". A patch that modify any executable to work without RAM restrictions. 
 
And it worked.
The patch did not comprimised the executable, and I was able to play for an hour straight with my R32, even surpassing that 1 GB mark, and then switching to the AE86 Trueno. No problems, no FPS drops, no nothing. And the game even start being less "hungry" for RAM when it surpass the 1 GB mark, assesting itself around 1.2/1.4 GB of total RAM usage.
 
Someone should give me a little medal for all this testing...
About the "4 GB Patch", you should be able to find it youself on the net. If not, I ask permission to an administrator to post it in this thread, since it could be usefull to more people, and would increment the amount of testing on it, to see if it actually work flawlessly, or my 1 hr run without problems was just dumb luck.

Because people spend hours of their free time, working and converting cars to TDU, so people can download them for free.  This is exactly what ended TDU modding community, this sort of lack of respect for the time spent doing something for the people.  Everyone grew fed up with having their mods open, edited and re-posted as someone's else work. 

It's not much different if someone downloads Platinum, change 1 car, and reupload it as like, TDU ultimate or whatever the name, without even mention Platinum at all. I sure will not feel happy about it. 

Sincerely, I have one request.
I noticed that there is no Lamborghini Murci Roadster, It would be great if you bring back and add the original Lamborghini Murci roadster as a "tuning model" to the video game. The same way you've added multiple Aventador models and the other hidden cars, adding the original Murcielago roadster model to the game is appreciated.
I ask you to do so because I no longer have the original files. furthermore, I am not aware of how to mod the "tuned models".

Yeah, 100.000 for an 1 hour race was a little underpaid, imo. Specially with the increased number of very expensive cars. lol

I was surprised I get $800k in Tour of the Island race, both that race and The Millionaire's Challenge I finished, best 2 hours of my life hehe!

Almost getting Champion badge too, just few more races or cars.

Alright... where to start? Let's start by saying "wow": WoOoW! This is insane! You've really outdone yourself this time, Milli. Thanks A LOT, TDU Platinum is the remake this game needed, to put it simple. Great work. Thanks again. 
      Now, let's start some detailed talk. I've been playing Platinum for a day now and it's been amazing. I downloaded it at 7 AM and gave it a try. By the time I was done, I noticed it was 11 AM already. This is how good that test drive of Platinum was. Somethings that I was really impressed by:
1. The fucking number of cars in there. Damn... just damn.
2. The cockpit view camera. The fact that you actually sat down and did every camera for every car. Damn... again. This was actually one of the reason why I didn't really enjoy or even try all the cars in Ultra Community pack.
3. The way SUVs drive. Okay, not their driving physics, but the way they maneuver when braking and steering. It's actually better than TDU2, and that game had SUV built-in; SUV had their own physics their. They felt like some track-focused... or should I say, "glued"? Those things probably had more downforce than an F1 car.
4. I tried some of the cars, and the ones that really had me go, "Wow... this is actually amazing," were the Ferrari 458 and 488 ones. Who made those models? They're insane. And the sound... Dear god, that sound. Fuck... too many cars and too little time. 
      Before I finish, a little glitch I noticed with one of the Rookie level races. It's the Classic race just below The Enzo Ferrari transport mission. When you're done, the game just stays at the first finish screen. Next won't do anything, the camera won't switch to your character standing next to your car. I did find a walk around, just change to a different profile and then back. The game will have it saved, and you'll noticed you've actually won the race. 
      Alright, this is it for now. I know, I'm not that much of a talker, really lol, but I wanted to say thanks, this is really amazing. You and all the modders deserve a medal or something.
