How's the wheel going?
-
This is the second chat request I've received from a random 'girl' - just wondering if anyone have received any of these? I figured I'd be random back to try and work out if the other end was a bot or some creepy scammer... I'm leaning towards the latter. Then again it could just be stalker Milli trying to test me out  Here are the chat transcripts for your brief entertainment. I had Cleverbot opened and ready to go if it dragged on but I must've scared 'her' off.

Cool, I'll drop the 'must include your car/bike/pogostick' rule for you since I'm assuming you don't have personal transport in NYC??? I was a little bit naughty this afternoon. Got a few 'what on earth are you doing?' stares from dads but their young kids thought I was really cool riding the motorbike (very slowly and carefully) on the footpath. I gave one kid a wave and rev as well, you should've seen his face light up. Awesome! I've also got a pic of one of the kids riding their bicycle past it I think there's a law against photographing other peoples children without permission. (There's probably a law against riding on the footpath too but ignore that - although to park on the sidewalk in the city at work I do have to briefly ride where pedestrians walk as do all other motorcyclists.) I'll wait 24 hours more for new pics, if there are none Ozz can pick the next theme (go easy while we're starting out though).

You're not doing anything wrong, you simply can't forward the same port to two different computers in your network, just the same as you can't write two destination addresses on the front of an envelope you mail. The game server only sees your public IP Address (http://whatismyipaddress.com/) and then your router "forwards" the data to the local IP address (192.168.x.x or 10.1.x.x) you specify in Port Forwarding. There are only ~4 billion public IP Addresses available in the world (0.0.0.1 to 255.255.255.254 to put it basically, not technically correct) and they've pretty much run out. That's why all your PCs, consoles, mobile devices that connect to your router share the same public IP Address, and your router translates it (NAT). If you want to know more, research NAT and IPv6.

If the exposure wasn't so bright on yours I would've voted for it Ozz (not that pCARS has any settings for that)

Wait you haven't got 100% on Hawaii yet? Good luck with that

Well at least dismissing mine was an easy call :cheeky:

Few hours have passed...

NAT (Network Address Translation) As far as the game server is concerned both of you are the one same person. Partly it's up to how good their server code is and partly it's how good your modem/router is. You could try splashing some dosh on an expensive "gaming" router such as the Netgear D6300.

At least you don't (seem to) have the problem of thinking where any good bridges are (that are quiet enough to stop on to take a pic).

gran turismo 6 Once More Unto The Breach (AKA League Racing)
Ryzza5 replied to Paladin Skylark's topic in Driving & Racing Games
I'm quite busy over the next 30 days (I'm currently not involved with Season 9 of my OCMB league), and that's not even considering the timezones. Weekend mornings are out for me as well. My experience here has always been Planned racing (between America/Europe/Pacific) = rubbish turnout whereas noticing a bunch of people are online in the chatbox/Steam - "hey wanna race?" has a much better turnout. Of course that's not much of a league. My best chances for online gaming are weekday nights after 7.30pm, besides Thursday, and weekend afternoons/nights. GMT +11 -

So you haven't played it yet, then  I think I've only played it twice this year. Waiting for the online bugs to be fixed and for the track creator.

The only tunnels like that that I know of are the ones that take you into the midfield at race tracks. The other two main ones are full of speed cameras and so large you wouldn't hear anything special reverb-wise.

Mobo = Motherboard/Mainboard but you probably Googled that by now ;)

I personally would've thought HiRes is more popular among the modding community given a lot of mods are bigger files than stock and will generally increase the system requirements anyway.
-
No, the game is crashing because files are missing or corrupt or not as otherwise expected. Reinstall to restore those files. There are no properties to change. Trying to work out which files are problematic would probably take longer than just starting from scratch. Remember if in doubt install one (or a few) mods at a time. If you install lots and the game breaks you won't know which mod did it. There are two copies of textures in the game. When you play at <=1024x1280 it loads textures from the LowRes folders, if you have the option higher, such as 1920x1080 then it loads from the HiRes folders. The fact that the game worked only at low resolutions is a strong indicator that files in the HiRes folders are bad.
-
Sounds like you've stuffed up some textures in the HiRes folders. Reinstall the game if you don't have a backup.

I checked that thread today already. Don't worry it's only the staff who get confused, everyone else should be fine. I think there was another older thread for that game earlier as well that was more successful - just can't find it. Ozz - you have to have your car/bike (or at the very least yourself) in the picture.
-
Well done. Looks cleaner than the rest of your car though so you're gonna have to wash'n'wax it soon :)
