This thing is absolutely amazing. It runs SO QUIET for an almost reference design. At first I wasn't attracted to the blue PCB but it's really not that bad.

Can't believe you upgraded to a newer card IN THE SAME series. :fp:

 

I usually wait at least 2 years and then jump to the next high-end single core card. Never going dual-GPU again after the 9800GX2.

 

Waiting to see some GTX480 v 680 comparisons/benchmarks. The reference card has 2GB of RAM but the various builders will also have versions with 3 or 4GB of RAM, so I'll see what happens there.

The card was $240 in BRAND NEW condition. I have been looking for a 6850/70 or making the push for a 7950. I was saving for a 7950 when I saw this. I don't think you realise how bad my 6850's were/are.

 

Horrible cards. They stutter all the time. They idle at 45-50* (I have excellent airflow) and sound like an airplane even when I'm watching a youtube video.

AMD were on top for the last gen, but Nvidia seem to be on top for this current gen of GPUs. Not that the AMD ones aren't good, they still are.
