in exact terms, explain how this game humiliated you. as far as the latest BS QA they hit us with, i saw it. and replied in the "designated" reply thread that many believe should have been stickied......but thats a different topic.

as for it being an attempt to "get noticed"....if you were in charge and you heard that a forum that claims maybe 4 or 5% of your TOTAL sales, was trying to get noticed by placing the sub forum for your game in their random nonsense sub-forum, would you really care? to be more specific......TDUCk claims around 28,000 members who signed up at some point in its history. somewhere i saw a rough estimate that TDU2 sold around 800-900,000 units. (numbers could vary)

to be perfectly clear, in no way am i trying to disrespect TDUCk or the impact that it had on getting stuff mentioned to go in TDU2.

but as i said before, there is always a right way and a wrong way to get things done. and no matter how i try to look at this, i fail to see how this could be viewed by ANYONE as the right way to do this.

but enough. i've said more about this that i ever intended too. maybe my time here is coming to a close as i simply dont see eye to eye with the Mods or any of the people replying in here. i've said my piece, now i'm done.

they humiliated well at least me because I was hoping and promised for a good game and I've paid a considerable cash on my own that I earn by working hard , and all I got was an unfinished game, anyway I'm not going to argue how rubbish the game is I think we all established that .

What is YOUR point then? I don't care how many sales they have, tduck is far the biggest tdu fan website around and ANYTHING you do towards this unfairness is going to count. I don't know which side are you on here, one minute you're defending tdu2 and then say all they care about is their sales figures ie money, and that'd be true in this conditions not a very noble thing to do not that I expect from atari anyway . my point is those 800-900.000 people who bought the game ( the figures are not verified ), vast majority of them will not be playing this game after 1 or 2 years unlike tdu1.

Let me post my point of view on this and I'm sure some people will agree with what I say and others will wonder why the hell am I saying what I am going to say.

TDU was a game many of us had been waiting for, it allowed you to drive dream cars around a massive environment and even though it wasn't perfect it had so many nice touches and a decent driving feeling that it lasted for ages for so many people. Couple that with the modding scene and the game even today continues to be played by a fair amount of people for a game of it's age. During this time rumours and myths about TDU2 were floating around but nothing concrete was ever actually found until BADNED posted those early testing screens and concept artwork. Excitement started to increase and the internal hype machine started to spool up and people were thinking of what they want to see and all sorts. Then it went quiet for around about a year and I went on the hunt for any and all media that could be about TDU2 and came up with some nice items and findings which again exploded into big interest and conversation about what TDU2 "could be". Then back in December 2009 I received an email from Eden in reply to one of the 5 or 6 I had sent during that year and it was basically a 'thank you for your interest' along with also stating that they didn't mind me seeking any and all info as it shows 'interest in the game [we] are working on' and that more info should be coming "next year". This of course made me very happy! :D

Skip forward to February and another email I do send at the end of the month, and on the 1st March 2010 I got an email stating that the official announcement for TDU2 was coming in the next couple of days "hopefully" which we all know it did. And typical for myself the 'TDU2 Announced' email and artwork arrived in the morning the day I had a ton of stuff to do in the morning. Just my luck!

Anyway the next few months essentially are quite frantic what with being flown to Eden Games to try out the game and check out the presentation and ask the all important questions you guys were asking. Getting answers to those questions (all dials will be working... really?) and seeing what was being worked on in the screens and such of the artists and testers made me smile and excited for what was to come. Seeing the game and getting to experience the smooth roads and watch day turn to night and see the rain and storm effects in action was also amazing. Then it was time to play the game and back then the driving was twitchy and the steering instant left to right, read my report and you'll see I do say this along with the flag that raised in my head (not literally) when the man from Del Monte ...I mean Atari said that when driving with no aids on the cars should still be controllable.

Then came the video trailers showing what seemed to only be the life of TDU2 and not the driving, in fact the first trailer is probably the one that showed the most driving, also what happened to the Xenon lights that we were shown in that? :hmmm: And what the budgerigar was the deal with that stupid E3 trailer?!??!?! :fp: Then we hit Beta time and those of you who were in that know how well that was, they fixed a number of bugs and said a number of things regarding the PC wheels and such but still with every update they never got it quite right and even now many of you who played TDU in only this way are still waiting for it to appear. A sequel is meant to build upon the good of the previous and add more not take away the fun and hugely respected aspects that people were actually asking to be included in other games! That's a huge compliment when people are asking other devs and publishers if they can do it like TDU does.

Hey there, thanks for sticking with me, you're at the end now.

So let me end with saying that TDU wasn't perfect but it was well liked and TDU2 was expected to be a lot more than what it is, you gave us night and dynamic weather along with improved roads but these are pointless if the core aspect - the driving - is not fun. Look at games today and look at the immersion and detail on the car interiors and TDU2 falls way behind which is a shame as there is no other game like it and ironically enough TDU2's biggest competitor is TDU1 and if you're on the PC you're more than likely playing that than TDU2 anyway.

I haven't played TDU2 since the 26th of August, in fact I used to only play the Casino and poker a couple of times a week but even that is boring now and unless something drastic happens I don't see me going back what with Forza 4 and BF3 coming next month. To the people saying that TDU2 won't be played after 2 years this should be the plan if you think about it as most games have about a 2 year period between them bar the big releases like GTA and whatever Valve are currently and still working on. Atari (Infogrames) has a history of releasing crap or releasing games in a crap state, but they do get the odd and rare flash of brilliance; think Chronicles of Riddick, Ghostbusters (it was fun), The Witcher I & II, Rollercoaster Tycoon (has a big following), NeverWinter and the godlike epic that is My Horse and Me 1 & 2, along with some others I can't think of so they do have the teams to do or the foresight to see a good thing. I just wonder sometimes if they actually will learn from the mistakes they always seem to make and will actually end up with their killer title and series that will stop them always seeming to get a new boss or talk of going down.

Look to other titles and see how their community shapes them and thus earns the respect and more importantly the sales that make a game great and a series fanatically followed. There was no end to the demands, suggestions and improvements put forward by the community over the years so it's not like you could not have known what your players wanted.

Anyway that's all I got to say ...well 1 last thing, what if we are in fact the minority saying the same thing and that the vast majority of people on TDU2 actually enjoy or are not bothered by the handling, the exclusion of decent wheel and FFB support and could care less about server stability and only want to empty their pockets or their parents' pockets of cash for DLC. Possible? :duck:

In summary:

TDU - Play it your way.

TDU2 - Play it your way.

So it was YOUR fault that they announced and released TDU2 too early

Hey there' date=' thanks for sticking with me, you're at the end now.[/quote']

I like how this is right in the middle of your post :p

Well surmised, Andy.

Too bad there isn't any other game other than TDU1 :(, kinda gets old after years of playing. Enjoying the handling of GT5 now and the vastness of games like Fuel and Just Cause 2. If those game developers would work togheter and create the ultimate game, I wouldn't bother the least bit to put down €100 for such a game.

EDIT: how could I forget. LOVE to see TDU2 being trashed in the bin on this big and popular forum!:)

makes me sad, i had such great hopes and was full of excitement for tdu2, should have guessed atari would make a balls up, i occasionally get the wheel out and fire it up, but soon end up turning it off....

i was hoping to play this and get invovled with a great community for years, but there is nothing to keep you in the game after a month or so......

There's nothing to say they couldn't bring it back though, however given the time that's passed, the fact it's Atari and well the fact it's Atari it's hard to say if anything will ever happen anyway.

You're right though this game should have been a license to print money for Atari.

Ah well... Until Atari / Eden show signs of getting serious with TDU2, it's not even getting a space on my 1TB games-dedicated drive. It can stay on the shelf.

The TDU2 official forums are rather amusing right now though. People are making hoax threads just to troll everybody, and there are no mods in sight.

Well that's not strictly true, there is a Mod who no longer wishes to be a Mod, there is another Mod who can't be bothered with helping out a company that doesn't give anything back, there is an Admin who is never there, there is a Community Rep who can only post what they're told, there is a sub-contracted muppet(s) (not Meixy!) who posts maintenance updates that a simple enable of the vB RSS function would do instead... much quicker too. And finally there is Gramps, a man so cool and full of epic awesome that I wonder why he visits that place when his life is full of grandiose greatness and doesn't need to bother with the amateurs of Atari.

Oh I forgot the PR manager who..... well.... you know.
