Search a few places and you see bigben being mentioned as the Publisher and Slightly Mad Studios (SMS) as the developer. Now what's interesting about this is SMS when they were Blimey! Games were making a game all about Ferrari and was dubbed the 'Ferrari Project' and in fact the engine it used was the underpinnings of what became NFS Shift. Now before you gag note that SMS had a physics engine ready to go and is well known for it's simulation and handling in it's previous games that most of it's team worked on with the GTR series of games.

Now consider their C.A.R.S project which is a Community funded project and you can if this news is true see the possibility that this could bring in that the ill-fated 'Ferrari Project' has become Test Drive: Ferrari and that it will not only have great sim aspects but also cater to the Shift crowd also in it's pick up and crash ways.

This is all just conjecture and hopefully more news is forthcoming in the not too distant future but if SMS are actually doing this then it could be very good indeed!!

It raises the question of who owns the TEST DRIVE license though and if Atari have sold it or are sub-licensing it to others for a cut of the profits.

LOL no that was SMS's 'Ferrari Project' from 2008 that they were working on. It is minimally possible that if it's true that SMS are developing this game, that their dormant 'Ferrari Project' has in fact become the new Test Drive: Ferrari that we are now officially hearing about. It's also completely possible that TD:Ferrari is a simple remake or arcade style game.
