It's got them in it yes, but UKTS has the UK in more detail than ETS2.

When I get put threw my HGV course's in a years time i'd only be in the UK(actually, I'd only be driving at most within a 20 mile radius of Aberdeen)

I'll be trying the demo of it when I get round to downloading it anyway and make my choice from there.

I've been running TSM Maps since the very first versions. Nice to see them adding new stuff like some houses along the roads, billboards or food markets though sometimes it looks ridiculous. But honestly, you really can't tell the difference between Germany or Greece.

I hope they'll add more backroads and small villages in the mountains so you'd have to be very careful to not scratch your truck. Way more fun than highways. :) Just like it was in STS.

Africa was quite nice (did a section of it last night). The scenery may be similar for some places but there are new items as well, and the more roads the better. There are of course other maps that change the scenery more drastically (such as the Winter edition or the America or Brazil mods)

ETS2 Post-release discussion

Hmmm, haven't tried the Brazilian or winter mods yet.

Anyway, trailer for the Going East DLC is here.

Going East! add-on expands the original Euro Truck Simulator 2 map with new destinations for cargo delivery across Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.

* over 20 hours of driving to explore all the new areas in the game world

* 13 new cities including Warsaw, Krakow, Ostrava, Budapest, Kosice and more

* Many kilometers of challenging narrow roads, mountain passes, and roads under repair to test your driving skill

Not sure if I get it as I'm used to the scale of TSM 4.x Map and it's paid.

More news!

The Release of Going East! add-on for ETS2 was a definite success, we are absolutely happy that our loyal fan base is supporting us in growing the game. Rest assured that we will keep on pushing! More on our ETS2 expansion plans coming to this blog soon.

Meanwhile, work on the first stage of American Truck Simulator project is moving full steam ahead, and the focus of our blog during upcoming months is going to switch to showing you more of this game.

World of Trucks start is almost here. After two re-starts, we have finally got the project to a state (alpha state!) that we are eager to show you and to test drive it with you.

To begin with - World of Trucks is not a whole new game. Well not now anyway. Think about it as an evolution of Euro Truck Simulator 2, an extra optional service complementing the game and building on top of the game.

Certain future DLCs and certain features in upcoming game updates will take advantage of the additional World of Trucks layer, in fact some goals we will be pursuing will be tightly connected with World of Trucks, as we expect it to be more and more strategic in the grand scheme of things.

With World of Trucks, we are taking a shortcut building it on and around an existing game. The route should allow us to iterate faster, to deliver features and content more often, at least compared to a building a game from scratch. You may remember that it took us almost three years in case of ETS2 after all! We sure don't want to let you wait so long for some of the cool stuff we are planning.

We will be continually plugging-in new features into the service as they get implemented, so you will be able to witness the progress and if you choose to, become an integral part of its development and evolution. Such approach requires an overhaul and adaptation of our own development processes, which is still an on-going effort (you have been the judges of that while waiting for such a long time for the mid-summer patch). We hope the further it goes into 2014, the better will be be at it.

So, finally, this week the 401 Authorization Required portal will start working. Using your ETS2 key (or via provided Steam link), you will be able to register at the website and begin using some new features of ETS2. Let's have a closer look at "v0.01 stage" features:

1. Custom license plates

Using a selection of templates from countries featured in ETS2, you would be able to design your own plate. This new plate, after setting in up on the website, will automagically appear on your truck in the game.

2. Game avatar

You will be able to upload custom image serving as your in-game avatar. This avatar image will also be your representative on the World of Trucks portal.

3. Photomode

We have a new more advanced tool available if you want to grab cool screenshots from the game. You can pan the camera freely in the vicinity of the truck, play with DOF and change FOV. There is a also a management screen to work with your screenshots collection.

4. Publish the best shots using Screenshot Manager on your WoTr profile

Would you like to share your truck design with others, or maybe you want to share a particularly interesting route? Now you will be able to publish up to six screenshots using the built-in Screenshot Manager and share them with the others through your Profile screen.

5. User gallery

The place where your shots are visible for everybody. The other drivers can rate or share the images. The gallery will be accessible for unregistered users as well.

You can see that with the initial set of features, we do not yet attempt to add any gameplay depth. The goal is to start carefully, getting the infrastructure up and running first.

We hope to see you soon in the World of Trucks! It will be a quite a journey, we will be taking it step by step. Stay tuned for more!

American Truck Simulator? I do like the sound of that! :D Will be a replacement of 18 WoS:ALH.

Seeing the pictures it's got Peterbilt licensed so far, hope to see others in(Kenworth I'm guessing are in, as Peterbilt & Kenworth are both owned by PACCAR, who also own DAF). Also hope it's not just the modern ones, the Peterbilt 389 and such need to be in(as still made, and the classic design!).

Guessing the trucks from ETS2 would easily enough be converted for ATS, so thats a number of extra trucks in the mix.

So I finally got the game, Steam sale & all. (although was actually going to buy the game, then seen it was like 75% off normal price) :D

On a sort of related but un-related note, I hitched up a trailer for real at work today for the first time while driving a Tug...and it's not easy I can tell you. Aligning it, then making sure the 5th wheel is the right height and all, then making sure it's locked in place. I did it though so I'm happy. :D

i wish in ETS2 you had like a sim option where unless you make it align perfectly ,you cant hook up a trailer. that would make the game more realistic.

something like that was in Convoy, when if you align perfectly and hook up a trailer, you get applause and a "perfect...something" message.

btw, i saw ETS2+DLC for 7.49EU in this last steam sale, it was a pretty good deal
