Haiku, my dear friend... :D Can you post here a pic from Tool's RX7 Veilside interior? Only if it doesn't take too much time of course.

Oh, and many thanks for the tires, Driver never got to post them here at turboduck...

I also have a question to Haiku...

Do you plan in release your database? I mean, you can share your database, with a list of new slots file names, so people can download the cars themselves and just put them in the game. Doing that you avoid the modders permission to share their mods, as you're not sharing any mod at all, just a database "ready" for them.

He could work with Djey or whoever is working on a new Community Patch to make something truly remarkable... Not that I'd use it (I like things my own way, and I enjoy doing them), but this is too well done to not be taken even further.

Yes i think it's better to share, it's what make this community stll on until today because of sharing.

In all honesty, it is not up to us to tell him what is better, if he doesn't want to share his database, it is ok... His choice and we must respect it. I just want to know if he will.

Thank you Milli.

Truthfully , I really would love to share my DB with the community , it would be my way of giving back since I've learned and received so much from everyone here . Another thing , I don't want to be stepping on Tob's toes either, he's dedicated a lot of time and effort in this as well and if it wasn't for him , I wouldn't be doing this , big props to the modders as well .

I'm slowly trying to figure out a way , right now my DB is in a WIP stage because I'm using mostly existing Atari HUD files/file names . I'm having to use some of Atari's rims because I resize my rims to try to get them to factory-ish specs and they don't turn out on some so I have to swap them TDUPE, it's still a learning process ;) Also, a few of the mods I'm using aren't available anymore .

I promise, I'm working on it ... plus I'm up to 81 new slots right now and I never wrote down a single file name I used  , so I'll have some organizing to do ...

I already got something on the way indeed. But I haven't got much time these days and my main computer where all my work is sitting have some issues and getting repaired at the computer shop. Please be patient, I'll make everything possible to release something before the test days of the Le Mans 24 Hours at the end of May. Well, it's already released but it still have the main glitch with TDUPE. Thanks to alonso, I can correct that glitch. But it requires time and patience, I have the patience but not the time. I'll also see if I can add more slots than the standard 45 I already have.

BETA Car slots Add-On V 0.6.1 TDU

About Haiku's work who's very impressive. I would say he can share his Bnk1.Map + DB files but the main problem would be that everyone MUST have the same Bnk files name that he got. If you don't have the added same Bnks names in your game folder, it won't work. If you still want them, well, think about it: Add more than 80 x 5 Bnk files and rename them exactly to the name_file in the database, it simply a nice time killer. Or other problem, just ask the permission to the modders to share their mods but most of the mods I saw there have dead links and their creators are gone.

Oh, one last thing that annoy me a lot... People who asked for a ready added slots mod like the one I've released in March have completely ignored my mod. And the same people are now asking for the exact same mod... Really ? I've asked people to test my mod and look where I could make the mod better and find the glitches but many didn't care... So please, just stop crying for another add-on slots cause their is simply one who's already released and need a bit of work. Thank you.

Hi Tob,

thank you again for your tutorial :)

I tried adding slots now twice and made exactly what was shown in your video.

But both times the game crashed when starting.

First I tried it with a modded game incl. millis slot addition and your 6.1 patch with hotfix.

With those mods, all was fine, got the Bentley, MB C63 and so on.

All files where writable, and in profile I selected english as language.

Second I tired with a nearly fresh game, incl. paradise island and some other graphic stuff.

But I really don't know what was going wrong each :(

I think about a new install with patch 1.66a, megapack and cp 1.68b only.

Hopefully it will give me a "go" ...

I can check your problem now. :) Just need to download TDUMT on the computer I'm using. Could you send me your DB.bnk file and your TDUMT's Vehicules Slots.xml please ?

That's the thing, people don't need the same .bnk files! They just need any .bnk file with the correct name. For example, they could make 80 copies of the Punto and each copy has a name like: 850i.bnk, CL65.bnk, EB110.bnk, and in the game, they are all Puntos, visually.

Time killer? Maybe... but since i can't create a slot myself (Lack the knowledge and my computer refuses to work with TDUF), it's a time that i would spend. If that means all showrooms filled with cars, i'd spend such time adding 80 puntos so they can be modded afterwards.

I would, if I could, but I deleted the game folder and the trash box afterwards ... so new install needed

Do I need to do the complete procedure with millis patch and so , or could I just start after a fresh game with cp 1.68b and megapack is ready?

This is what I've done here... But this mod just use Atari's Bnks and you can mod them in the traditional way.

Seriously ? what's wrong with that mod ? I'd prefer you be honest and say you don't like it or there is that glitch that annoy you

You can install what ever community megapack, you like. As long as you have Project Paradise and Patch 1.68 ;)

Here are the file names for my added slots to date . For the interior as per usual, just add "_I" to the body name ;)

Milli , or anyone wanting to give it a go , just let me know in the next day or two , I'll see what I can do .

Tob's other project "[REL] BETA Car slots Add-On V0.6.1 TDU" would be a lot easier ...

The Bugatti 57s Atlantic and Ursa 599 Fiera were added using the installers , I just added extra slots for the other wheels on the 599 Fiera . I had to re-add the Honda Civic Type R , it was overwritten by the Bugatti 57s .

I'm gonna start adding more slots in a day or two , so the list will be getting bigger

Hi,

I wonder on which info does the game rely to display vehicle other people ride online with ?

Is it the slot REF or the Id_Car ? Id_Car seems unique as well.

A great thing would be to give an official list of which REF/Id_Car vs vehicle mod everybody should use to help with keeping game consistency online :)

Posted

Well i asked if something like that is possible and they started talking about rules violaing about sharing files bla bla bla so i just gave up.

I dunno about others but for me its not interesting to see default tdu cars driving all around me because everyone is using their own different slots.

Posted

To be clear, intent is not to provide any file nor force anyone to use a specific mod.

Then, rather than a precise mod name, a single "brand model version" hint may be given instead. Final user would just install the mods he likes.

Hi Djey.

I don't play online , I mainly just cruise around ;) Right now my main goal is to add as many cars as the game allows , buy every house and have all my garages full with 1 of each car . Then backup that game & maybe re-install , start over again ...

I've never explored that deep into the game , although I seem to be learning more each time I mess with TDUMT through trial and error . As far as REF #'s and what they do , the only ones I'm familiar with are just for adding slots atm ...

I've finally managed to add a car to TDU... i've followed every step in your video Tob, but i've noticed something with the camera.

I've used the A3 to install a mod, and it worked, but if i fine edit the camera in the mod, it also changes the A3 camera. Because it did not created a new camera. Anyone know how to solve this?

By fine edit the camera, i mean choose a different car for front and back view.

Tob, in the video, why do you copy and paste the values for the SLR Rim two times in the RimsDB?

Cause I add two rims in the game :) Look at my result picture. Got silver wheels and black wheels. I have the choice of one of them in the game :nods:

Remember one line in TDU_Rims.db is only one wheel. Same for TDU_CarPhysicsData.db, One line = One car. ;)

Hi Djey :) Sorry for the late reply. I was dead busy and I forgot a little my thread :o

I'm pretty sure the REF value is the main key to make a car show up to other players. Cause I've recommended to start the ID_value from 2040 then no one would have problems with the original Atari slots.

And yes I agree. We all should have the same REF numbers when we add cars cause as you said it doesn't help online. So that's gonna be part of my release of V1.0 of my car slots add-on. The idea would be I publish somewhere on the forum which slots I've copied and put next too it a REF number + ID value in case of. Same for the wheels by the way. Also, I will open a "Value request thread" so people can leave a ref number + car copied name and I will add them in a list. Example:

SLOT REF: 2689882777 - Ascari KZ1 copy 1 | Wheels 1 REF: 4219640692 ~ Wheels 2 REF: 4229740692 (2 sets of rims)

[-> In my case as an example, this slot is my Audi R8 GT Spyder with 2 Wheels: Silver and Black. Feel free to use these values and you might see my self in a red car online :) When I say car, it depends of the Bnks you are using. You can use these values and use a different car. Just like the regular modded cars ]

SLOT REF: 2712202386 - RUF RGT copy 1 | Wheels REF: 449940644 (Ex: This is my Porsche 911 GT2)

SLOT REF: 4299559156 - Enzo Ferrari copy 1 | Wheels REF: 4299559156(Ex: This is my Ferrari FXX)

SLOT REF: 2935263229 - Skyline R34 copy 1 | Wheels REF: 4319560423 (Ex: This is my Skyline R32)

SLOT REF: 2946263229 - Skyline R34 copy 2 | Wheels REF: 4429560423 (Ex: This is my Skyline R33)

Note: All the values I've put up there are the one I'm actually using for my new slots ;) As I'm saying again, using them will give your chance to see a proper 3D working car. Not the Atari ugly car.

Okay I understand. However, when I run TDUF with the first phrase "MappingTool list-missing --bnkDir "C:\Program Files (x86)\TDUnlimited\Euro\Bnk" I get a message in TDUF saying "java is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file" and then the batch doesn't run.
