I think the safety and emissions rules for the US don't allow it there.

 

Yeah, it's all emissions. Since it doesn't have a catalytic converter or EGR system or vapor capture system it is only allowed in the US if it never drives on anything other than a race track (aka an "off road" vehicle)

Well, in America, we don't have Opels, Renaults, and certainly no Seats. The first time I ever head of Seat was from this forum.
