You are not paying for the item, you are paying for the time and effort that goes into making them, the item is free, but you charge for the "labour".
 
Or like in the case of a premium subscription /vip status. You are neither paying for the mod or for the labour. you are simply paying to get access to a section of a website where all the best free mods are kept.
 
And the property law doesnt come down so much to paying for the mod, it comes down to the fact someone removed it from a game, thats the original theft. Most EULA's state you are not allowed to reverse engineer/ disassemble the software. which is what we do when ripping the models. That has broke the property law. you have obtained the models they paid licenses for by reverse engineering the software. Dont get me wrong you can get busted for charging for stolen stuff. But the above loop holes are often used in those cases.
 
But yes flat out charging for a mod, like putting an individual price on each mod.. " this one is $2.99.. this one is only $1.99" that is illegal.
But even downloading a completely free car mod is as well, if the model came from another game. You are receiving stolen goods.
So anyone who frequents a site such as this and downloads car mods, then goes on to say how some other mods are illegal is being rather hypocritical. What the modders are doing.. all of them.. by getting models from other games, is illegal, what uses do, by downloading said mods is illegal.
People really have no place complaining about the legality of one set of mods when all of them break a very basic copywrite theft law.

Here is my next project that I a currently working on. The BMW 507. In the picture, it replaces the Aston Martin One-77. I have not finalized which are it will replace, but that will change to be something of similar stats.

Servers are "just" offlne, don't panic. It seems that they want to save some money on bills by turning off servers each weekend :mad:.
Since DLC info is server related it is common that when servers are about to crash (or when not fully up) people get this message and loose all DLC cars even if they bought them legally.
 
Unofficial Patch is undetectable by Atari's "anti cheat system". They could update the game to block UP but probability that it will ever happen is as high as Dubai in DLC3 for TDU2 :D. Of course they can still catch any UP user redhanded, but again, it is as likely as ban for CRC cheating idiots...

I mean it's not fair that many links is dead and newbies can't have fun with these. TDU is the best game for mods, there is so much cars and brands you can introduce in the game ! As you can see below :cool:
 
I know the rules of the forum, I can't post any mods in threads but I can send it by PM. :rtr: It's a bit of a shame.... I always respect the great work of modders and I know it's not good to steel mods and post it somewhere else without authorization. But J, Why don't we make a thread with all the mods who have dead links ? I've got about 95% of all the mods who's bean made for TDU and I can share many of them to the community. Many modders of TDU are gone, probably forever and they will never come back for updating there links :rolleyes: Also, Speeder on his Big TDU Project would like to introduce some of the best mods made by the community, I can probably help for that. :eyebrow: What do you think ?
 

Keep in mind it is the original R8 sound from the TDU2 team, but with a Realistic Start-up added.
If a R8 sound mod owner wishes to combine the start-up with his/her sound send me a PM :)

i am not going to release anything, as a I dont have the time for modding anymore. if anyone else want to make it (i would give them out to elite modders, rev09 for TDU2 and norby for TDU), i will make the model ready :) I would never sell my models, i will just give them to the people I trust in this community :)

Not yet. I waiting for the model, from Zoqqer, but i think he also didnt had any time to modding just like me. Now im back to modding, and atm working on the s65 amg. This xmas was very eventful, then i built a new half pc, so i cant deal with modding. Yesterday i reinstalled the tdu, and got the feeling back. :)
 
Other thing: Little updates may will coming for a few mods (stiching, textures, wheels etc.).
