I've seen this on a couple fourms i've been on, while surfing the web. Pretty much its a live DJ show. You get a couple volunteer People to basically be radio DJ's, and put on music. Its Great for entertainment purposes, You can take requests in the CB Most likey, you can set times/shifts for the DJ's. Just Think it would be a good way to entertain the community. And I know, your saying well you can't do shifts because people arent on sometimes. But you can probally get people willing to cover for you. Feedback Please :D

I Don't exactly know how its done. I just know i've been on forums with it and it was pretty cool, and thought "whoa this would be great for Tdu-c". I know alot of people use Winap(or whatever its called) for it. It could also be a great start for anyone who is thinking about becoming a radio DJ to get some practice, And yes there will most likey be bloopers which could probally start a TDUC Radio blooper thread and progress from there :).

i have done a bit of online broadcasting but i dunno how its done i just had a program that contacted there stream or something and it went from there. :D

i know a LFS community does this ([TC] City Driving) and i doubt they pay a license

Shoutcast is probably the easiest, you can stream from Winamp as far as I know

Yep, Winamp is the easiest way for broadcasting radios. :)

 

But then again, whoever will be the DJ, will have to carefully select the music, so there's a bit of everyone's taste.

I use SAM broadcaster when i was doing something similar. The free trial said 14 days but it was running for months.

Yes, Thats Exactly what i mean by the Request in The CB you can get really what ever songs you want off that, so he can play songs and take requests.

 

@Baldred: Yeah ALOT of people use Winamp for this because its the easiest as said in my last post. Should be a fun thing to do, to get more activity on the forum. Instead of a dead CB all the time :lol:.

O and btw internet radio isn't always live :P

infact about 70% is pre recorded and replayed over quiet times.

If you can't get the rights to the music then you could do a Pod-cast type thing through WinAmp. I did it once and got a partnership with GarageBand (http://www.garageband.com/), there's a ton of unsigned artists.. some really great music - some of which I noticed was on LastFM too.
