The lights (front and rear) look terrible with those orbs in front of them, and in a game focus in the look of cars i ridiculus, i cant stop thinking that they should use the time spend on the casinos and modeable houses, on the look of the cars... shame.

Even NFS Shift lights look way way better.

TDU 2 Fragebogenaktion

http://tdu.gameprophets.com/news,id469.html

http://tdu.gameprophets.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=17442&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=1

Ingame (functions, modes, etc.):

1. What can we expect from the new co-driver mode and what should we imagine

when we think about it?

Co-driving is the opportunity to share a driving experience with a friend. As a co-

driver, you can choose to give instructions to guide your friend, or just visit the

islands, like a tourist (that also unlocks the roads for the passenger).

2. Is there going to be a racetrack on which you can race against other opponents

(¼ mile race, etc.)?

Race tracks have been designed on both islands, and are useable with TDU2 racing

game modes. We will be waiting for community feedbacks to know if we develop

dedicated racing game modes for advanced racing competitions.

3. If there still is a photo-mode, was it improved or enhanced with more or better

functions? Do you have to unlock the photo-mode before using it?

The photomode is now available everywhere (not only in Free-ride), so you can take

pictures at home, in your club etc. Photo mode is available from the start, but a

dedicated game mode called “photographer” will also be available when the shop is

discovered in the game. This gamemode offers player to win money by taking

photos.

4. Will there be a video-mode?

This is currently not planned for the game.

5. Will there be a possibility to refuel your car? If so, how is the fuel-consumption

calculated?

No fuel constraint in TDU2, we experimented it in early versions of TDU2, but found it

to be restrictive.

Game-related properties (visuals, technical stuff, etc.):

6. Were the anti-cheat-measures improved?

Yes. We definitely want to ban “flying cars” in TDU2, for example.

7. Apart from the sports-cars, will there be racing cars or every-day cars in the

game?

We wanted the range of cars in TDU2 to be as large as possible, as it is the DNA of

the franchise to allow people to “Test drive” a great number of vehicles. So it goes

from “casual” cars to very exclusive cars (like the Gumpert Apollo), but also classic

cars & 4x4 cars for off road experience.

8. Is the car-managing system in garages improved so that you have a better

overview and can you tell each car were it has to rest? Can you sort the cars after

class, name, etc.?

We are not planning to do such improvement, but are waiting for community

feedbacks for this kind of feature.

9. Will the X360-version of the game consist of multiple DVD's? (note: PS3 has Blu-

Ray, so it's unlikely it'll need multiple Blu-Rays)

TDU2 is on 1 DVD, only. To be honest, it was a big challenge to make the game fits

in the 2 layers of a classic DVD, as there is a lot of more data in TDU2 than in TDU1,

but we managed it.

10. Can you choose between two different kinds of driving-styles (H-Mode in Test

Drive Unlimited)?

There is no hardcore mode, but in TDU2 player can choose the level of driving aids

from full driving aids, sport, hyper-sport or no driving-aids.

11. Are there going to be high quality engine-sounds and driving behavior?

About the driving experience, the cardynamics have been totally rebuild from the

start, as the TDU1 handling was sometimes weird and we had many comments on it.

The new core system is more ‘solid’, it allows us to provide a big range of driving

behaviors, according to the real car characteristics. Carsounds have been re-edited

with new samples, taken from real cars.

12. Do the players that already played Test Drive Unlimited have an advantage in

Test Drive Unlimited 2?

No, except their knowledge of the Hawaii island.

13. Is the driver going to interact with the car? For example if the player starts the

car, will the driver turn the key or push a button?

We developed the 1st person walking mode in garages and car dealers especially to

allow player to be close to the cars and interact with them: doors, windows, horn,

start the car. We also added new interactions with the cars when driving: open/close

tops, activate turn lights for ex.

Other:

14. Is there going to be a Steelbook/Collector's Edition?

Only pre-orders with exclusive contents planned for now

5 upgrade-kit levels, judging from the pic. (Although A class on audi tt rs roadster?)

5 difficulty levels (physics level). Easier to know what cars there's left to buy. (IE lev 5 only).

I wonder what the indication icon to the right of the A5 icon is ... hmmm?

Also .... DLC fuel .. come on more votes!! :|

Hm me too... There are two things that I could think of sofar, that would be either Tuning (performancepacks) or heatlevels of the police. I believe they once mentioned the police could remember your ''crimes'' and start chasing you sooner the more infractions you did. Back then i already had to think of Most Wanted sortish heat levels, which go down the longer you don't drive that car or the more you customize it.

I think the right Icon are the tuning upgrades and if you compare the numbers with real one, the TT RS is stock, so not tuned.

The A 5 maybe is something with the license thing (Racing School) and the class, maybe now is A the slowest class or A is normal cars and 5 the lowest, B SUV's, and so on

Namco Bandai Games EU have posted a higher quality version of the trailer on their youtube and you can clearly see that the cut in the Audi TT-RS's roof (0:57) when closing is actually an opening of the actual car when the roof is closing. The quality of the video on Gamespot hid this and made people think it was a fault whereas it's just a see through section of where the roof joins are when closing and I imagine opening.

I believe that was talked about back in March. One of the first pieces on info.

There won't be an auction house at the release of the game, instead they are going to release it as a DLC after the game has been released.

i wonder why the guy at 1:07 has a name tag on his shirt, right side.

how will that fit into the game, when we walk into a "community" area will we have to wear name tags?

It's gold so he must be important.. maybe a club president?

Taking another look at the trailer, I believe the laptop icon might indicate a way to send messages to friends or find out latest statistics on them. It's a small addressbook with an MSN-ish puppet on the left page and a few lines on the right page, sort of like a small contactlist.
