Its just like a MAJOR letdown, why did they do such a thing? Why didn't they use the engine sound they actually have in the cutscene, its like a punch to the face, like HEY listen to this amazing sound a now enjoy the one we REALLY have.

Plus, I think the characters look like they are made out of wax or something, like sculptures and not real people, besides, the sense of speed is.... NONE. It just seems like one is always driving at the same speed, C'mon this is a major issue, the community talks about it all the time, and there seems to be no change.

I know that the graphics can't be as good as GT5, and that there are some effects and polishing needed, but I can live with that but the thing is it always seems that the game is UNFINISHED, sort of a concept or project and not an actual game. :ill: Everything seems very "square shaped" and sharp like they have no anti-aliasing, the game has no LIFE, I know they tried to make the game very "social" and stuff but it seems kind of like you are a lone driver talking to robots in a deserted island.

Seems kinda like you're blind. Seriously, TDU1 was MUCH squarer from what I have seen and the gameplay was from X360 -> No antialiasing. STILL. STILL people will be able to enjoy it. Crappy models and lack of antialiasing didn't stop people from enjoying TDU1. Lack of sense of speed? TDU1 had it. People still loved it. This one has certainly got more sense of speed. Crappy sounds? I'm starting to wonder if you ever played TDU1, because if you would have played it, this forum would be flooding with your whining

Still about the cutscenes: most games don't have real gameplay at all on cutscenes and you whine about some sounds that actually make them sound better? Duuuuuude.

TDU2's graphics are actually REALLY good. It's an extremely impressive game, visually. Also, GT5 only has AA for certain areas, like photomode. If you play it, you'll see that there are sometimes horrible jaggies, especially in out-of-focus shots. GT5 also seems sort of flat and dark, almost too realistic. TDU2 has the potential to (visually, at least) be more entertaining to watch for longer periods of time.

TDU2 will give that classic TDU feeling when you are just cruising along with some good tune playing in the background. Couple that with the long wanted night and weather and TDU2 is a worthy successor to the original. It may not be the leap some were expecting but it's definitely worthy of being a sequel.

It doesn't matter thát much that the leap Eden made ain't that big, I mean, why do it today if you can also delay it tomorrow. They now just have to make a slightly bigger leap for the next TD/TDU3. To be honest I do hope it'll be a TDU3, TDU's concept is just too good.

Can't wait for putting up music, driving around, doing some transport missions.

People need to get off GT5's.. *ahem* It really isn't as good as you're telling yourselves. It's a half hearted GT game and provides only limited fun. Yes, I have played it, and no Forza 3 is no better. TDU provides a totally different type of gaming experience, I don't know who coined this supposed comparison but it's wildly unfair. /rant.

They get in the mood at home, hit the bars/clubs, then hit the after party. Seems accurate enough, someone clearly got to research it. Hmm now there is a job.

I'm happy to see the intro's quite limp, hopefully means the effort is where we want it.

Man, its just that TDU is kind of my favourite game, so I am always hoping for something better.

The thing I want most is not racing and casinos, I wanna cruise around, test drive and do vehicle transport missions. I mean, TDU1 had poor engine sounds, that is no reason for TDU2 to have poor engine sounds, I guess people are just being conformist. I know its always better to try to hide the flaws so we don't get disappointed but... 4 years later things are supposed to change and in the things that I really think that are important in this game (number and variety of cars, engine sounds and sense of speed) the changes just don't seem enough, that is it!

I am not saying the game is bad or that I won't buy it, but when its gets close to the release date of a game, it seems people go blind and accept no complaints whatsoever. It seems people want to pretend that everything is perfect and just want to see the bright side and I understand that. The only reason I complain is because I love this game, that is why I go to effort of posting everything I think is wrong so someone can actually make it better. I bought TDU1 for Xbox 360 and I don't even own one, I bought to play in other peoples console whenever I could. I just wanna see to it that this game evolves, and pointing out the flaws is the only way I have to actually change things. :D

Yeah, I was trying to point out the visual aspect of that earlier; it's just a game. It has a lot of cars, yes, and some cool/unique stuff, but it's so repetitive. I try to throw things up by using the wheel now and again, but it's really just a game. TDU (yes, TDU1) is so much more involving for so much longer. I went a lot longer without modding than most of you, and entered the modding scene late (especially for someone who had the Digital Download version, released two weeks before the DVD release date), so my gameplay experience was vanilla TDU for well over a year. I didn't even finish the "drive every road" achievement until last month!

And then the community comes into play, with the cruises and the ideas for new games (whether solo or multiplayer) - not even counting the mods. You just don't get that with games like GT5 or NFS. Forza inspired some similar stuff, but nowhere near the level TDU did. This is all I want for TDU2; I want it to be able to grow, and to keep me discovering more.

I know that in the forum post-miniskirt simile, this was the equivalent of a winter parka, but I think we could all use a pro-TDU rant in times like these. :)

The funny thing is is that less than a year ago we had 0 confirmation of a TDU2 and we were still overjoyed to be playing TDU1. I don't know what some of you expected, but all I wanted were non-bumpy roads and so I'm very happy. We get a whole new island, we get tons of new features, we can walk around dealers, we can do more customizations with the cars, we get so much more. Obviously they could add more, but I have this feeling that some of you will never be happy no matter what they put into this game.

I for one can't wait to have it and I can guarantee I'll be playing for years to come no matter it's faults.

Well, that's 10 minutes of my life I will never get back.

Who parties that hard at 5:15 in the afternoon? lol

The whole thing looks like it was just done in a hurry.

Use that post as a receipt and go to the desk of NBP to claim your refund :p

EDIT: just noticed I think something's missing on the seats...

I wonder if there are options like:

Anti-Lock Brakes (on/off), Stability Help (on/off), Traction Control (on/off), Clutch, Shake Camera, Blur Effect, etc...

I used to get Shake Camera and Blur Effect to the maximum in TDU1, it looked like I was going faster:thumbsup: I hope they kept the old options intact!!!:D
