So much has been announced for this game that it annoys me that I am working on other things and unable to post about them at the moment. If only I could split myself into two or clone myself or find some other way to post these things... :hmmm:

Gotta say it's all coming together. I'm finding the physics are quite challenging but enjoyable. In previous sims you'd find them a little too predictable, if I had to use one word to compare pCARS handling with other sims, I'd say "livelier". Of course that depends on what vehicle you choose as they're still working on them, as well as the tyre model.

Are they going to fix the game for people who use gamepads? It wasn't too bad a while ago but I went on it recently and it's horrible. Seemed more like Project Jelly with how much the cars wobbled.

it was like that with the wheel too. I turned on stability control on and physics turned to normal.

Read something interesting today. In the Video Settings there is an option for Render Frames Ahead which defaults to 2. If you have a powerful PC you can sacrifice ~10% of performance to further reduce any perceived wheel input lag to make things nice and sharp'n'snappy. I haven't tried it yet though.

We'll save double rainbows and moonbows for pcars 2 :) For now here's a screen drops update.

Still need to:

- Add high speed drop shake

- Add to all cams on open top cars

- Increase drop amount when behind other cars or at rumble points

- Add UI hook so we can make on/offable for different cams (trackside, external, internal)

- Possibly add a size curve to exaggerate the initial impact

- Drops hitting sound?

First pass (draft) of Oculus Rift support is now in

^No likes? :(

If anyone has an X360 pad they want to test:

May I kindly ask all of you to test:

filtering: 0

deadzone: 0

sensitivity: 60

speed sensitivity: 5

it will still feel a bit jerky, as smoothing and the countersteer effect still has to be implemented (in fact it already is implemented for local tests and results are very promising .. but there is one more thing before it may go public), but it is very responsive, you only need to push the stick a little bit, whilst it is still precise.

Reasonable ranges for changes are:

Sensitivity: 40 - 70

Speed sensitivity: 0 -20

PLEASE APPLY CHANGES ONLY IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

In this case I'm really interested in your opinion about THESE SETTINGS.

Please give it some time and start with very gentle pressure on the stick.

It is best to spend some time just standing and getting the feel of steering.

Edit: I see settings by F31Y4 fit into range ... except deadzone ... nice!

And pass your feedback here: WMD Forum

The best settings found (that work for all cars) can then be made default in the game. Don't forget to delete your profile folder and start afresh with new builds.
