Ooh now this does look interesting, a sort of oldskool NFS with some aspects of PGR and a sprinkling of DRIVECLUB feel to it. Not sure how the F2P will work out though, may have been an idea to have their sim in Project CARS and their arcade racer with World of Speed. Certainly looks the part though!

Looks like it's team-based. So if you crash in the first corner it's not all over because finishing first != winning.

So team-mates have to work out who's drifting, drafting, blocking, wingman-ing, etc to score points???

Good to see the snow track not go to waste when they took it out of pCARS.

Devs have likened handling to Burnout.

The team aspect and "action racing" sound so much like what DRIVECLUB is doing, the delay to that game worked in SMS's favour for this. Though there is mutterings that DC will be released when Sony's VR headset is officially shown and announced.

Isn't that neon glow/light stream iconic with pCARS though?

Graphics and time-of-day engines are shared, but not the physics

More info from a Russian outlet (translated) here: WMD Forum

pCARS has (and will continue to) benefited from this project in regards to new car licenses and a boost of funds that otherwise wouldn't have happened.

It was mentioned that the game works well with keyboard, gamepad, and G27 (wheel).

Beta is supposed to open in Spring some time. WMD members *may* possibly get early access as a final QA testing process.

There are 'tens' of tracks, some of which are point to point and may bring back memories of early NFS games.

Noice!

Yeah it's some sort of 'skate park' type zone that acts a bit like a home base but you can also mess about with friends there. Not expecting it to be massive, but then if you think of those arenas in FH where you could play Tag or Virus, etc they weren't large by any means and were fun.
