My French Tank

The grill is great, although i would paint the Peugeot letters white, but that's just my opinion :)

Interesting idea, but I didn't want them to stand out too much.

I was successful at the scrap yard yesterday. Finally got the correct banjo bolt for the fuel supply fitting on the fuel pump. The one I bodged together when I fitted the pump was limiting the throttle arm's travel a little bit. This meant I was probably only getting about 85-90% throttle.

With the proper banjo bolt fitted, ho-lee crap! It's opened right up again, revs much more freely and is boosting much stronger.

Next project, mount my boost gauge on top of the steering column. I had it in the vent but moved it down to the centre console in front of the gear stick. Needless to say I can't really look at it down there. I've found a nice gauge holder for a flat surface on ebay. It would go nicely just right of centre on top of the steering column. If I mounted it to the right it would just obscure the unused bit at the bottom of the rev counter.

Not been in here in a while... I've decided to go in the OEM+ direction, so I removed most of the stickers and put an early model grille on it (smaller Peugeot badge). I also gave it a good t-cut and wax.

I also got a proper holder for the boost gauge:

I've also removed my silly stickerbombed dashboard and put the walnut effect one back in. My next plan? Get the backbox hollowed out. I know somebody who is willing to do it. I've met somebody from the 306 forums who lives just a few miles away, hung out with him a few times and he says he has a welder and stuff and he's done backboxes on his own cars a few times. Soon I shall have MOAR TURBO WHISTLE!

Lighter socket. No, I don't smoke, I just need something to plug chargers etc into.

It was originally in a fold down ashtray at the bottom of the dashboard, but I put the centre console in from a later model a while back. This means I no longer have the fold-down ashtray bit. I did, however, have a blank button where the front foglight button would be on higher spec models. Luckily, the generic aftermarket lighter socket fitted perfectly in there.

I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. :D

Nice 306, especially the WTF sticker, but those mudflaps....

Teehee... They do their job bloody well though! The amount of crap I find stuck to them rather than the bodywork is amazing.

I caved in this afternoon and did black headlight masks just like everybody else, was sick of the white ones. I must admit, the black looks a lot better too...

Hmmm... time to update.

I've got a complete set of 5 15" steel wheels with good tyres turning up next Saturday (bought off a 306 forum member).

Current wheels are 14" with 185/65/14 tyres, the 15s have 195/55/15. This means wider tyres, woo!

I'm going to make them interesting...

Wide tires FTW!! :D

10mm wider. lol.

I also got creative with an old t-shirt and a pair of scissors yesterday.

I've just decided to go a bit mad with this car seeing as it'll always be a rattly old shed no matter what I do. I'm tempted to paint the door mirror caps purple to match the wheels, once the wheels are done first though.

Seeing as I don't have the 15" steelies yet, and don't know when I'll get them (guy who sold me them seems to be dragging his feet, I don't believe he's even sent them out. I've opened a paypal dispute)

Here's a preview of the purple paint, on my old pair of mirror caps. These will go on with the wheels when I eventually have some.

Now imagine 15" steelies in black with the lip that colour ^^
