Also note the binning of TDU2 was partly a joke as some of you know due to the state and current situation with TDU2 we are moving away from being TDU-centric and more into General Racing and Driving games. TDU2 being binned was symbolic of my saying of "slowly binning TDU" in response to the new icons for the forum sections. It originally was meant to be in there for only 76mins but on Friday night I fell asleep and when I wokeup Saturday morning I thought "what the hell, leave it in for the weekend".

 

TDU2 for many of us has been a disaster, I don't mind saying that as like I said first and foremost I'm a TDU fan and I'm not going to say things smell of roses when they in fact stink of something else.

 

So if you want to slate, berate and kick down TDU2 then go ahead. As long as you stick within the rules and have a constructive discussion along with everyone, including others who may have differing opinions then that's fine.

ya know, this reminds me of a kid i grew up with. if we didnt play the games the way HE wanted to play he would throw a fit, stomp home and throw his toys in the garbage. 'cause that would show us just how mad he was.

 

after 34 years i thought i would never see such behavior again. clearly i was wrong.

The difference is that the majority of people here want the game binned, not just one person. There are only 2 or 3 people here who have said that they still enjoy the game, and a few others just play in the casino. Also, there's only one game (toy) in the bin, not all of the ones we longer play with. I wouldn't say we're mad (angry, not the other kind of mad), just disappointed and frustrated. :)

I consider myself a fan of both games but with the current condition of TDU2 TDU-Central as a community SHOULD leave TDU2 in the bin simply as a form of protest until/unless Atari improves the service (both the game and servers) -. And you also have to admit that if Diablo hadn't binned it this sub-forum would've been pretty much dead - and that says something about the game as well.

i never said they should move it. as for The Bin being dead, meh.

 

there is always a right way and a wrong way to do things, and in my personal opinion this is the wrong way. i will never view an attempt at "humiliation" as the right way to go about things. in truth, if i was in charge of the game you would definitely NOT like my response to such things. they already announced the change in direction they are working towards, very easy to transfer the budget from one game to a different game.

 

honestly, with the backlash they have already received, they really dont have much farther to fall. so just Binning the whole game and moving on really would not hurt them that much. every company has done it at some point, so its not like its a surprise when they announce that they made a mistake, have learned from it,

and look forward to the next great release due shortly.

 

so i guess my question would be this....why even try to give them a reason to do exactly that? it may hurt their short term bottom line, but they will recover.

but for us...........we get the short end of the stick, officially.

so it's good when THEY humiliated us with the game? I think you didn't read the latest qa as well which pointed out by eden they thought the game was alright. This game is binned not because it was to hurt them but to get noticed at last. Because the game is rubbish and they still don't know that.

Ozz is right - we've wated patiently for months. 7 months after release all we have is one DLC patch for 2/3 platforms and a FAQ that says they're ignoring our clear feedback. 90% of us have "binned" (uninstalled) the game at home; it is only fitting that these forums represent that.

Well, can't say I agree or disagree with this. But I can say that since I finished the last few races and got bored setting lap times round some of the tracks my game has been sitting idly in my drive apart from the every-now-and-then occasion where I get stressed out and just want to cruise along. The Casino is pretty boring because most of the time in a driving game I want to "drive" not "play poker" and when I do want to do so there's not a player in sight.

 

I've made a small club and recruited a bunch of random people I thought were pretty good after they beat me on a one-on-one duel, but it seems that they haven't been bothered to play the game for a while. Last time I saw another guy in my club was 2 months ago. In fact I've already removed it from my drive once, I only decided to re-install it fairly recently because I was a delusional -hat that thought there might still be signs of life, well, there is a slight resurgence but not enough to make a trickle into a torrent.

 

So, as of now, I'll just wait and see what happens, I'm used to waiting for long periods, though usually with tougher projects like webcomics or big mods for my favorite game and not a ruddy patch that's basically taking the good part of "forever" to release.

in exact terms, explain how this game humiliated you. as far as the latest BS QA they hit us with, i saw it. and replied in the "designated" reply thread that many believe should have been stickied......but thats a different topic.

 

as for it being an attempt to "get noticed"....if you were in charge and you heard that a forum that claims maybe 4 or 5% of your TOTAL sales,was trying to get noticed by placing the sub forum for your game in their random nonsense sub-forum, would you really care? to be more specific......TDUCk claims around 28,000 members who signed up at some point in its history. somewhere i saw a rough estimate that TDU2 sold around 800-900,000 units. (numbers could vary)

 

to be perfectly clear, in no way am i trying to disrespect TDUCk or the impact that it had on getting stuff mentioned to go in TDU2.

but as i said before, there is always a right way and a wrong way to get things done. and no matter how i try to look at this, i fail to see how this could be viewed by ANYONE as the right way to do this.

 

but enough. i've said more about this that i ever intended too. maybe my time here is coming to a close as i simply dont see eye to eye with the Mods or any of the people replying in here. i've said my piece, now i'm done.

Who cares how many people we have here now - Diablo is one of their biggest fans (consider time/money spent on this place), has direct communication with the dev team + some Atari staff, and our staff were invited to visit the dev team to test and offer feedback long before the beta began. I know Diablo still plays TDU2 (mostly casino), and he initially did this as a joke, but you can be sure it'll send a message to a few people if they catch wind of it. Not that I expect that'll change anything. :)
