Firstly, I want to say a big THANK YOU to TurboLag. I got inspired by him and basically, this is his weather mod, but heavily modified.

So, this mod includes better textures (I'm not the author, couldn't find the author to this mod.).

SweetFX - modified it to give better look of the game

Weather mod:

The weather mod contains 3 different sunny days. 1 day with rain clouds, rain feeling.

The sunrise has 2 parts. The first part has a reddish feel, sun still isn't very powerful. It's quite dark outside.

The second part of the sunrise has a powerful sun. The sun is really bright. The sun rays are firstly orange and then transfer to pink. It is very beautiful.

After that follows the day. I've made 3 sunny days. They differ very little. Couldn't really get many ideas of what to do here. And don't get me wrong, the day is beautiful as well. But it's beautiful in a different way. It's very realistic. I've tried to make the colors good and the lightning good.

There is also a rainy/cloudy day. As rain isn't really possible in TDU, I've just made it with black rain clouds and rainy feel. This day is really beautiful as well. Maybe even more than the sunny days.

After the day passes, there is the sunset. Every single day, there is a new sunset. My favorite is the last one. Sunsets aren't as beautiful as sunrises, but the last one really stands out from the others in my opinion.

After the sun has fallen, follows the night. The night contains 2 parts. Moonlit and night. The moonlit is just for the transaction from day to night. It's not as dark. Sky isn't completely black, but dark blue. I made the nights, not as dark as other people make them. I've made a light around the car. It feels a little like headlights when you drive, but of course it's nothing near the night you can see in TDU 2.

If you have any suggestions on what should I do/add/change, PLEASE let me know. I'm always open for new stuff.

Screenshots are mostly from day,sunrise. I haven't made any screenshots of the night. Will probably add a video and some new screens soon.

To install, simply extract in your main TDU folder.

It is VERY important to set Anisotropic filtering to 16x. I did this in my Nvidia Control Panel. I'm not sure how it works on ATI, but this really improves the quality of the image.

Known bugs:

- Sometimes clouds don't appear. To make them appear, just enter Photo mode and change the hours a little, get back to what you were before and they'll appear (if the day has clouds. Not all days have clouds).

I can't really tell if this mod is making the game heavy or not. It runs over 100 FPS for me, but it might be different with a low-end or mid-end PC. Altho I don't think anyone will have trouble running a 7 years old game. :)

I just spend 4hou testing this mod, i rly have probs finding the right words for it, all i can say is a rly epic job u did there m8

but its way to late i would have enjoyd this mod 100000 times more with online servers and 8 ppl in the lobby with the same mod

Oh, that sucks.

Altho I would never think you'd have any problems with such a PC. Do you use the HD mod? If you use it - it might be that.

I'm with a higher end PC and get over 100 FPS always, but the difference isn't really that big for your game to lag. =/

Measure it with Fraps and tell me if you use the HD Mod. Because if you use it with these textures, it's most likely that.

I also had huge FPS drop, I changed draw distance with HD patch and now it's OK.

I'm not sure now, probably to hd 100 or hd 300. I also had Patch HD installed, I think that Hawaii Beauty Enhancement changed view distance settings, so I applied Patch HD again and now it works fine for me.

It seems there's a problem with the draw distance. I'd like to take a look at that Patch HD as I don't have it.

I think you just need to use lower Patch HD settings. As it mods my files but it mods other files as well as far as I remember. I just can't seem to be able to download it now. Dropbox seems to be offline at the moment. Will take a look as soon as I can.

Did a little test. Firstly, after installing HD patches, reapply my "FX" folder. Secondly, my mod doesn't change the view distance.

I wouldn't recommend to go higher than HD 100. To be honest, I would use HD 50, if there was one. HD 100 is too high and I'll just stick to original. Screenshots are made with original too, btw. :)

That's really strange, because applying Patch HD really helped me from huge FPS drops. Anyway, thanks again for your great work, TDU looks now almost like TDU 2 (maybe even better).

Hello. I'm using a part of your mod, its great. But how to enhance colors to look like same when I go to pause menu?

Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't home. It seems you're using a different weather mod, so it has different colors and etc. And sometimes when HDR is on, colors may change when you pause the game. You'll need to find a weather mod that you like better in-game. :)

compatible with Island Paradise?

Hi there,i tried this mod and it's great.Just wonder can i install this mod with Island Paradise at same time.Since this mod includes better textures as well maybe Island Paradise is not necessary?What do you suggest?

Yes you can ;) You free to do any replacement on any mod. Same as replace stock wheels by BBS for example. That is the beautiful part of modding in TDU :)

I think you should go back to the original TDU weather, because you can keep the light for all your challenge. And I don't know why it take long to start your challenge, that's strange :/

MOONLIT is basically night. Replace it with dryday or remove it. :D
