  1. This file has never existed in TDU. It's a fault in the install script. As it's said, contact the person who made the mod. It seems not to have been well tested before release
  2. Thanks ;) So , unless there is already a bug in unpacking the files already, I don't understand why the game crashes. File names with hex characters are not a problem, that happens sometimes with Eden's files ! And the game does not provide any obvious information when exiting, does it ? Now the issue is I've completeley wiped TDU2 out of my harddisk and moved on other projects - which are worth it this time :) Sorry.
  3. lol. More than an inspiration source, Forza 3, 4 and now horizon have been providing 3D models some fellows have been trying to convert to TDU. That's not inspiration in fact :D Converting is difficult already, making a model from scratch is the next level ! Oh wait, you're requesting for a car in a game which has fewer and fewer players and very few modders by the way... and which is not an online game anymore. You would have a bit more chance to get your Golf 7 on a recent game... what do you think ?
  4. Very likely the original slot can be assigned with an interior paint slot, which does not exist anymore/is not compatible after installing new data. In any case, buying the car again is a good solution :)
  5. My vision: in a while, someone will post here to say "that's why you should not use autoinstallers, that's bad... blablabla ...." :wise: Thanks for using it, Zoqqer I know some people really enjoy having installers. I wish you the best with fixing it... most of the time that's not a so great deal ;)
  6. indeed, I'm drinking to forget my sorrow since TDU servers have gone ... :jk: I was a junkie way before TDU was born !
  7. No news and there never will, likely :) 1. Unpack original (non modified file) 2. Repack it to a new bnk 3. Unpack the new bnk into a different folder 4. Compare obtained files between steps 1 and 3 then post observations here. thanks. You just answered your question :) I can't remember how to launch unpacked steam version. Maybe with Kniazev's universal launcher ??
  8. I'd just like to add to the thread that... everything good people has achieved in TDU modding is because driving with TDU1 was such a pleasure. From here motivation was born :) You know, I just started in creating a little tool to convert (in quick and dirty mode) tdu textures to dds and vice versa. And I had hopes in this game. What better than working on this (very hard sometimes), knowing that a few hours later you will be able to enjoy riding with the mates ! Everyone need to be rewarded for efforts. I can tell TDU1 has rewarded us so much. It's sad to say TDU2 can't in my opinion. But anyway, modding need creative people with hopes and curiosity to give anything. So I'm not aiming to break anyone's hopes, just explaining why I'm working on other subjects now. I won't be very far as always, hoping for a 'solid as rock TDU3 or whatever' :D
  9. Indeed... even the skillest programmer can't do much without source code :) Same as a skilled modder feels frustrated when the game does not allow anything to be modified. The problem in TDU2 is not something people can fix with fiddling with configuration or database... game engine (C++ very likely) is a joke, and is not even comparable to TDU1's. Physics are totally scripted... the only thing havok does is to blindly follow what the scripts tell to execute :) TDU2 codebase is crap ! Period.
  10. Hi uninstalling the '75 mod should not affect your game. if ever that's the case, you can always install Patch 1.68b to fix your game files. Please note that in that particular case, you will start from a clean database so you'll have to reinstall all your mods / car performance tweaks. Regards.

    1. Nice work, all ! And good luck to turboduck :)
    2. GTA:SA is a legend, thus has a much wider fanbase and addicts count as TDU 1 ... Don't forget that us people, who like driving nice cars in open environments, are nothing in number compared to third person shooters, fps, and even well known simulations. Let's add a crappy editor such as Atari to ruin the concept .... now maybe you'll understand :D
    3. It would have been possible to create a server by reverse-engineering (seen in other MMORPGs) , but it seemed that most of people like me (I'm a developer) have chosen to get a life rather spending days and nights with such a hard task. Great time to move on, guys ! We have to accept it :)
    4. Good thread :) will start converting my online profile to offline, I'll keep you updated ! Edit : it works. Important things : - the file to edit is playersave, not commondt.sav - since file size is about 256kbytes, selecting above the first 50 bytes from source can be very long, depending on which hex edit soft you're using. In my case, Hex Workshop is very powerful since it allows to select all bytes from menu (Edit -> select block) without dragging around with mouse cursor. Just enter the end of the area to select - beware when pasting in the target playersave : in my case it was inserted not replaced so I had to delete old garbage at the end of file ! - at the end, do not forget to copy contents from online profile to new offline profile : bookmark, Radio, IGE, Photo folders. Thanks !
    5. Hi This evening was my last ride with mates before servers closing soon :( So that is my full gallery with profile 'Grominey' ;) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xgpha14tte3vtmp/VFiNAQ0G4I enjoy .... :hiya:
    6. Not sure server binaries do need a Linux, as they had to reboot their 'server' in the past to apply Windows updates (lol) Seen @ TDU2 forums announcements. To host a servers one's basically need : - a PC with Windows XP->7 or server edition (assuming binaries are Win32/Win64, see above) - good broadband internet / cable fiber - lots of RAM (depending on how much people to connect) - ability to open a wide range of ports with your router (cisco/linksys routers are good at this) I could dedicate my LAN PC (or a virtual machine on my new game PC) to make it run for my friends. But ... without the software (getting binaries or trying to mock the server and re-programming the same) no chances !
    7. Hi lean, how come you haven't been here to talk when TDU Modding was at full speed ? anyway. Interesting, did you try to make a custom game server or anything ?? So far, I've added the show fps, windowed mode, position options to TDU Modding Tools (see Speeder's post). So any info about orb would be appreciated :) And yes we need the server side software... my private message box is available if you need to ... Thanks for your visit ;)
    8. I'm pretty confident you can run the server on a average PC, just requiring a good internet connection. I remember the server had to be rebooted and service stopped regularly, to install Windows updates ! Now it's very easy to install a virtual machine running with any operating system. Besides, it appeared that the link with gamespy has been broken as well. Chances are server does not depend on any 3rd party service. I'd say, if we get the files, 80% of chances :) But as you said Ryzza, if we are not able to getting those damn server binaries, that's would be the end.
    9. Yeah, server IP (name in fact) is hardcoded into the exe still. Hex editing such values is not guaranteed to be working 100% but ... ages ago, I found out you don't have to patch the files to do this. You just have to redirect orb server name to IP of another server (e.g home hosted) by changing hosts file. So to my point, we just need the server side software and I'll handle it :) Diablo, have you still contacts with remaining team in the studio - which might give us some things to play with ? :)
    10. when reading this, lets me think some people really deserve such a bad game ... douchebags (and this is not the first time in tdu2.com) ... those forums are a pity, maybe Diablo should spend his time into valuable things. Just a suggestion. time is precious :excited:

      New Update ?

I spent tons of hours with modding TDU because of the fun myself and others had with TDU1, had TDU2 come first I don't think I would have made it :)

      New Update ?

TDU was far from perfect, but accent was on the most important ... driving pleasure. So bugs and crashes were not taken into consideration. TDU2 has not even the main things most of people like in this kind of game. Unlimited license is loosing its fans, I can't get enough motivation to play at it again, even if there are true modding abilities.
