Well well well. What do we have here, as we already know a new Test Drive game dedicated to Ferrari has been hinted at since around the middle of the year when a listing for it was found on GameStop. Well now we have an announcement from a small publisher called bigben who appear to be publishing the title in certain regions of Europe, meaning that someone else will be taking over the rest and also that Atari are probably going to be doing the damage [not literally] in North America. Listings for the game are starting to appear on retail sites such as amazon, gamestop, newegg among others so keep an eye out for more in the future.

With Slightly Mad Studios no doubt being the team behind this game and it basically being their ill-fated 'Ferrari Project' then believe it or not, this could be an absolute belter of a game and may be one of the few to actually cater to those who want a sim and those who want an easy casual racer. Let's hope Atari and others just leave SMS to it and don't EA the game like what happened with Shift.

It's because it's SMS doing the work and physics, a number of those guys worked on the GTR series and had a very promising project in development called 'Ferrari Project' (FP). This is the reason a number of people are excited for this game as if just having TEST DRIVE in the name brings this beauty to us then bring it on. FP became the backbone of NFS Shift and of course Shift 2 however EA basically told them the direction to go with the handling and such so if Atari or whoever leave SMS to it then this could be a sweet racer indeed.

I see my post got deleted, well then

omg this game is so awsome I'm DEFINITELY gonna PAY for it

Your post was deleted because you broke the rules. Plenty of other people have mentioned their disbelief and anger at this news fine and no doubt will continue to do so.

Wait, so no free roaming and only Ferraris? It better be damn good in every other aspect to make up for the losses.....
Well TDF is a TEST DRIVE and not a TDU so maybe this is the plan. It certainly raises the question about what is going to happen with TDU2 and it's support though, that's something they will need to answer for sure.

Seems like the Ferrari Challenge games but with Shift graphics! Going to keep an eye out on it!

The bit about Rally, interesting..considering how Ferrari's did get rallied(The 308 was breafly, and the 288GTO was a Group B car, albit under the racing rules and not rally if I remember correctly)

I'd get away from the Shift mentality if that's holding you back from what this title could be as EA basically told SMS to go that way, just look at their past history and videos of C.A.R.S to see what SMS can do when they are left to it.

I'm excited for the fact of proper cockopits, head movement and of course sounds. It's one to watch for me but again Atari need to show what they are doing with TDU2 in regards to this. Also if TDF can have all these classic and great F cars, why can't TDU2? :hmmm:

This is a spectacular day, and an acknowledgement of Internet progression and therefore of technological success - hooray for being able to post GIFs!

--------------

About the game, though? The first impressions are nice - graphics (lighting in particular) seem to match C.A.R.S., Shift 2, and be above rFactor 2. The physics, at least from the GIFs (!) seem similar to Shift 2, though we'll see how that bodes for game enjoyment; while acceptable for racing flat-out, there wasn't much Shift had to offer in the way of drifting or driving at normal speeds, or doing smooth starts/stops. :)

We shall see. ;)

Looking great.

When I first saw 'SMS', I thought of text messaging :O

Also,

Ferrari in rallies?

Something's wrong here :hmmm:

There sued to be a 308 used in a few rallies I believe. This game looks good though, then again, anything looks better than the last "game" to wear the Test Drive name..
