The white van? have to check that out...

I found some Q&A with Nadal on the IMDB site

Makes me wonder what happened to the drifting in TDU2, lol. If he likes that so much why the complete mess up? I know that game and it was indeed a very cool arcade racer for PC.

Some little bird once told me Nadal programmed the physics engine for Vrally himself. The same engine was used as a base for the physics of TDU1. Add to that the n00b comment from Atari on Diablos remarks regarding the handling and a picture starts to emerge that sheds some alternative light on the development of TDU2.

I don't think selling Eden to Atari turned out the way Nadal expected. It probably brought him some money, but if i'm right he was not in control of the TDU project anymore. At least it looks that way. The interference of some car companies in game dynamics and nerfing the physics are examples of it.

On the other hand, he is also known for bragging about not listening to feedback from the Testers and Focus groups, confirmed by at least 3 devs. Maybe he should have shown the same attitude towards Atari executives who forced him to dumb down the game and introduce dinky driving dynamics. Or did he sell his pride with the company?

Test Drive will continue. But Nadal will probably not be part of it anymore. Sad story. You need crazy people like him to pull a project like this off.

If SMS will continue the legacy with TDU3 it will for sure improve the driving dynamics, but i don't know about gameplay or the real TDU vibe.

Sebastian Tixier from Eden games france made the driving physics for TDU 1, not Nadal.

They where not able to keep him for the TDU 2 team.

That's why the driving got worse.

I can only guess, but i think he did not agree with Atari treatening the Eden employees,

and just said no to TDU 2 using his great physics work.

There's a time challenge in the north of Oahu called the tixier loop too .

I hope he can help Ivory Tower, "The Crew" formed by the not kept Eden team members, with his know how. Peace :-)

Cant't resist.

The 3rd person view of the Porsche Boxter from your second test drive unlimited youtube video looks like a car driving backwards with exhaust on front and where the driving cabin is facing the wrong way. Funny.

Edit : I watched it again and, aaaaaa :-) , it's so weird.

The theme before :

With only the driving physics of TDU, TDU2 clearly would be the better game.

Allthough i've seen videos, where the drifting looks pretty, and similar to TDU1.

Maybe Eden games will buy the rights to the TDU franchise, who knows...

Without external interference they might pull it off:cool:

Yes, but Nadal worked on the Vrally engine where it was based on.

Tixier made the combination of physics, controls and FFB work, which is a big achievement. I bought my G25 especially for TDU1 and it rocked. Like many other things in that game a benchmark for that time.

Let's see what they will come up with this time.

I'm under the impression Nadal has a score to settle:D

The edengames.com website may be off just now but there are bits-and-pieces of info around showing that the studio itself is in fact still going. Jean Yves Geffroy - France | LinkedIn for example is showing his latest Job Position started November 2013 at eden and look at the little part under that, yep making a mobile game based on based on the TEST DRIVE license.

What is actually going on though? Is anyone's bloody guess!

Generally the license would relate to future titles and whatever terms were set about current titles. As for previous, hard to say as some let them go as history and others enforce their rights by pulling them down if they're still available. Atari in some form (either Inc or SA) still have the TEST DRIVE license though.

I was hoping they could revive TDU 2, yeah i know how it sounds

Facebook games still a thing? I though most of them had became app's in there own right now.

F2P PC could work...but considering the amount of support TDU2 had....

TDU 2? Support??
