DRIVECLUB is actually coming! No it's true, Sony have released a brand new trailer showing off some truly gorgeous visuals of the cars along with some rather glorious ambient features including a rather sublime Aurora moment. The PS4 launch title coming only 11 months later than planned (:D) will still feature a slightly-trimmed down PS Plus version and damn are we hoping that it has indeed been worth this wait.

Anyone who can remember the reports about the PS Plus Edition can feel aggrieved at this as the impression they were giving was that it would be more than what it now appears to be, it's not bad for free but from what they were saying last year it's definitely lacking.

Riiight :oook:

Responding to a commenter on the PlayStation EU Blog, who stated the PS+ version sounds "almost as if it's a demo", Rustchynsky revealed that - whilst players would be able to access all of the full DriveClub's gameplay modes, they'd only be able to do so with ten cars.

The DriveClub game director also went on to say the PS+ players "can only race in one country (which gives you access to 5 tracks with 11 distinct variants)", with the absent content set to be made available for players to buy separately as if they were DLC or expansion packs.

Hang on while I rush out to buy a PS4

  • 4 months later...
Hmmm, doesn't look as good as the earlier trailers showed.

And why is it that a game with all Euro cars in it is released in the US first. And since when is the UK not part of Europe?

uk usually gets a separate release date because it is a huge market and publishers do not want to stress game servers too much. (At least that's what I was told by my friend who's in the industry)
